The cross-Vietnam sports festival “Breaking through the challenge” reached the finish line with a distance of more than 15 rounds of the Earth

Officially launched on August 10, 2024, the trans-Vietnam sports festival “Breaking through challenges” has brought a new breeze to the sports-loving community in Vietnam. This event contains a series of new elements such as taking place in both the form of an outdoor sports festival and an online sports festival, bringing together 3 popular sports including: walking, jogging, cycling and is aimed at everyone, including amateurs.

The above open criteria have attracted a large number of participants from all provinces and cities across the country. At the end of the program, the online sports festival alone had 20,200 participants. If you include the number of people participating in outdoor sports festivals in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, the number can be up to 22,000 people.

The online sports festival held on the vRACE application, where participants can choose one of three sports to accumulate distance, has witnessed a rare record that is hard to find. The total distance recorded after September 21, 2024 has reached 617,955 km, more than 15 times the circumference of the Earth. This result far exceeds the expectation of 500,000 km that the organizers set at the beginning of the sports festival.

The Running Challenge gathered 12,498 participants with a total distance of 439,023 km. At the end of the program, player Tran Nguyen Thanh Cong excellently won with a cumulative distance of 3,761.94 km (more than the length of Vietnam’s coastline).

In the Walking category, the total distance recorded was 30,895 km with the participation of 6,317 people. The victory belonged to player Nam Nguyen with 1,457.41 km. The Cycling Challenge recorded a record of 148,037 km with 1,385 athletes participating. The victory belongs to the account “Top 3 cycling 600km a day” with 8,124.24 km.
