Pixelmon is a famous mod for the game Minecraft. This is one of the oldest mods, but is still updated regularly with new content added each time.
Even the latest official release was released after Minecraft’s Nether (1.16) update. In today’s article, let’s find out How to make and own all types of Poké Balls in Pixelmon Minecrafthelping players successfully collect Pokémon.
How to make PokéBall in Pixelmon
The most complicated thing about PokéBall is that each type will have a different formula, but only the lid will be different. However, the manufacturing process is also quite simple. Let’s start with the basic crafting steps, then provide a list of recipes for each type of Poké Ball.
Making a PokéBall is quite easy if everyone has enough ingredients. To get started, players need to prepare the following tools and items:
- Anvil Pixelmon (different from the original Minecraft anvil, which has its own recipe)
- Kiln (Furnace)
- Crafting table (Crafting Table)
- Hammer (Hammer) – can use any type of material
- 3 cooked Apricorns – color depends on the type of PokéBall you want to make (for example: 3 red balls to make a regular PokéBall)
- 3 Iron ingots (Iron) or 3 Aluminum ingots (Aluminum)
- 1 stone button (Stone Button)
Step 0: Collect Apricorn
If you have enough of the above ingredients, you can skip this step and move on to Step 1.
In Pixelmon, Apricorn is collected similarly to modern Pokémon games – through Apricorn trees scattered throughout forest biomes. Each type of plant has the same appearance rate, regardless of biome.
List of biomes that can spawn Apricorn plants:
- Birch Forest, Birch Forest Hills, Birch Forest Hills M, Birch Forest M
- Cold Taiga, Cold Taiga Hills, Cold Taiga M
- Extreme Hills+, Extreme Hills+ M
- Forest, Forest Hills, Flower Forest
- Mega Taiga, Mega Taiga Hills, Mega Spruce Taiga
- Redwood Taiga Hills M
- Roofed Forest, Roofed Forest M
- Taiga, Taiga Hills, Taiga M
An alternative (less effective) way is to use a Bug or Grass-type Pokémon with the Forage ability to find Apricorn from leaves.
Step 1: Cook Apricorn
Put the Apricorn in the furnace to turn it into Cooked Apricorn. This is a required step to create PokéBall. Other recipes that call for Apricorn usually call for the uncooked variety.
Step 2: Craft PokéBall components
Create Disc:
- On the crafting table, Arrange 3 cooked Apricorn in a horizontal row to create a PokéBall Disc (lid).
- Also on the crafting table, Arrange 3 Iron or Aluminum ingots in a horizontal row to create Iron/Aluminum Disc (bottom).
Forged into a semicircle:
- Place the Poké Ball Disc on the Pixelmon Anvil and hit it with a hammer until it curves into a semicircle, this is the top half of the Poké Ball.
- Similar, Place the Iron/Aluminum Disc on the anvil and strike Curve the bottom half of the PokéBall.
Step 3: Combine into PokéBall
On the crafting table, arrange the ingredients in vertical columns in the following order:
- Top half (colored lid)
- Stone Button
- Bottom half (iron/aluminum bottom)

How to fix common problems
Crafting recipe not working?
Double check that you’ve used the correct Apricorn color, level materials, and Stone Nodes (unless crafting Hisuian Balls, which use Normal Nodes).
Crafting recipe not displayed?
Make sure you are placing three Apricorns or three metal ingots in a straight line on the Crafting Table. The formula only works when the items are aligned horizontally.
Stone button and it doesn’t work?
Only Stone Buttons are valid for standard PokeBall. The Wooden Knot only works with the Hisuian Ball.
Why can’t certain caps (Cherish, GS, Master, Park) be crafted?
These special covers cannot be crafted. Instead, you will automatically receive them if the ball is broken during the game.
Not getting the correct amount of Lid or Base?
Check the grade of the ingredients you are using.
- Level 1: 5 items
- Level 2: 3 items
- Level 3: 1 item
