Technology giants Meta, Nvidia, Samsung… are about to discuss at a major event on semiconductors and AI in Vietnam

Vietnam is currently emerging as an investment “hot spot”, attracting huge capital from projects of the world’s leading technology corporations. For example, giants like Samsung, Qualcomm, Infineon, and Amkor have poured billions of dollars into factory construction projects, expanding production and assembling semiconductor chips. Semiconductor chip manufacturing is not only an emerging industry but also considered the “golden driving force” that helps Vietnam become a prosperous country in the future.

Notably, one of the driving forces for the development of the semiconductor industry in the coming time is the boom in AI. Therefore, the semiconductor industry and AI are considered the technological key duo for the future of economic growth. These two sectors are objective requirements, strategic choices, and priorities in science and technology development; will lead to the development of other supporting industries, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Recognizing this importance, Vietnam has been actively preparing the necessary conditions to attract cooperation from international businesses in the semiconductor supply chain and AI development. Vietnam has completed the one-stop mechanism, built a project to develop human resources in the semiconductor industry to reach 50,000 semiconductor industry engineers by 2030, and established Hoa Lac NIC to be ready to receive investment projects in the semiconductor industry with the most preferential regimes.

On October 1, 2024, at the NIC Hoa Lac Innovation Hall, an important conference with the topic “Enterprises and the Young Generation before the wave of artificial intelligence technology and semiconductor technology” will take place.

The conference attracted the participation of a series of experts, leaders and representatives from the world’s leading technology corporations.
