Kids AZ is a learning app for both students and teachers, providing interactive learning content for Raz-Plus, Raz-KidsHeadsprout and Science AZ. How to use items in Kids AZ

Level Up!

Level Up! contains a set of books that students can complete to automatically move to the next Learning AZ reading level. Students will automatically level up after listening and reading all the books and passing the reading comprehension test with a score of 80% or higher.

My Assignment

Students go to the My Assignment area to complete the activities their teachers have assigned digitally.

Reading Room

The Reading Room is a place where students can access reading resources to practice and enjoy reading. The Reading Room makes it easy for students to find level-appropriate books by topic, genre, and popularity. In addition, students can save their favorite books for easy access at any time.

Flight Check

Flight Check appears when teachers assign students an assessment. Teachers can assess students’ reading level, ability to name letters, and ability to recognize words that appear repeatedly.

Messages

Students can use the dashboard to see messages from teachers or parents and see notifications when they earn badges. Teachers can send messages to students and reward them.

Star Zone

Students earn stars by completing activities. You can use your stars by customizing your avatar in Avatar Builder or Raz Rocket in Star Zone.

Stats

Students can check their reading progress and badges in the Stats section. Teachers can check student progress in the Activity Report section.

Badges

Badges will be awarded to students who have achieved milestones and encourage them to complete more activities. These badges will help students set goals and participate more actively in their learning.

Useful tips for using Razkids for teachers

If teachers want to integrate Raz-Plus into the classroom, the tips below will definitely be helpful.

• Students can record themselves reading books from their home computer. Have children record a favorite story with a bell or ding to signal a page turn (Next button) and allow younger children to hear it read aloud while following along.
• Once students have read and listened to all of the books in their assignment/level, assign a running record to the Standard Book or passage to determine student accuracy and readiness to move to the next level. (If using Raz-Plus in centers, have students record their reading.)
• Use the Assignment report to see at a glance how much current work students have completed and whether it’s time to assess their reading progress.
