Review of AirPods Pro 3 after 4 months: Headphone battery is longer but charging box has reduced capacity, controversial wearing feel and heart rate measurement feature.

It’s been more than 4 months since Apple officially launched AirPods Pro 3. In the initial review, I asserted that this is a version that “perfects what is already good”. However, after a long period of practical daily experience, I realized that I had made judgments that were not completely accurate, especially about the feeling of wearing them. With listed price 6,490,000 VNDis this still a “must have” headset for iPhone users?

Let’s look back at the pros and cons of this masterpiece.

Wearing feeling is controversial: Not everyone finds it comfortable

This is the point I made the biggest mistake in the previous review. Initially, I thought that small changes in design and foam-infused ear cushions would bring absolute comfort to everyone. Reality has proven the opposite: AirPods Pro 3 is more controversial than I thought.

While I personally feel like the headphones fit better over time thanks to the ear cushions that self-shape to the ear canal, many other users reported that they felt more uncomfortable than with the AirPods Pro 2.

Each person’s ear structure is different, and Apple’s new design seems to be more “picky” about the wearer. Therefore, our sincere advice is that you should try it on if possible, or carefully consider the sensitivity of your ears before deciding to buy.

Battery life: Trade-off between charging case and headphones

A notable change on AirPods Pro 3 is that the actual total battery life has decreased slightly compared to its predecessor. If AirPods Pro 2 provides a total of 30 hours (6 hours of headphones + 24 hours of charging case), then AirPods Pro 3 only reaches a total of 24 hours. The reason is that the battery capacity of the charging box has decreased, only providing 16 additional hours of energy.

However, the good news is that the independent battery life on each earbud has skyrocketed to 8 hours of continuous listening. In actual use, I hardly feel inconvenienced by the charging box having less battery, but am extremely satisfied because the headphones operate more durably. During long flights or continuous work days, not having to take the headphones off to charge midway is a huge plus.

Heart rate sensor: Useful but works silently

The most outstanding feature of AirPods Pro 3 is the heart rate sensor. After 4 months, I confirm that the measured data is very consistent and matches the Apple Watch. However, for someone like me who wears Apple Watch 23/24 hours a day, this feature on the headset seems a bit redundant in terms of visual display.

However, its real value lies in “coordination”. Apple’s smart system will silently compare data from both headphones and watches to provide the most accurate results in the Health application. For those who don’t like wearing a watch while working out or sleeping, AirPods Pro 3 will make a great alternative health tracker.

Still the “King” in the price range of 6 million

To sum up, AirPods Pro 3 is still the best personal audio device you can buy in the Apple ecosystem today. Active noise cancellation (ANC) has been significantly upgraded and increasingly detailed sound quality are undeniable core values.

Although the feeling of wearing it may not be suitable for everyone, with the price of 6,490,000 VND, the technology you get is completely worth it.

If you need a safer choice in terms of wearing feel, AirPods 4 can be an alternative, but you will have to accept the lack of many advanced features.
