Ragnarok Legendary MMO: After trying out CBT, I just want the official server to open quickly

When I was still playing with RO PC, I had a habit of logging in at 10pm and looking up it was 3am. That kind of waste of time without regret. I thought that feeling was only in my memory. But in the past few days, playing CBT Ragnarok Legendary MMO, it suddenly came back.

Not a remake, but a new story

The first point that makes me stay is that the game does not try to recreate the same old RO. The story starts completely new, you play as a student at Criatura academy, studying under the guidance of teacher Sarah. The opening is gentle, not thrown into a dense lore from the beginning, so it’s easy to get into the rhythm

Then the drama came at the right time: Sarah was taken away by a beast named Moonlight Flower. Old RO fans immediately recognized this name when they heard it. When I saw its name, I stopped for a second. From then on, the quest begins to have a reason to continue, not just doing the quest anymore.

Looking at it, you can immediately see the essence of Ragnarok

The 3D part is very well done, detailed characters, beautiful map. But what surprised me is that the game handles graphics quite intelligently: the combat and movement are full 3D, while the UI, dialogue, and equipment use 2D drawings in an illustration style. Some of the storytelling parts also have chibi comics that look very fun.

Combining it like that, it looks very “Ragnarok”, not stiff or strange at all. Poring is still cute, the familiar monsters are still there.

And the free screen rotation feature is also very surprising. If you like to play vertically to hold one hand, you can also flip it horizontally to see the map more clearly, the interface will change automatically. Simple but more convenient than I thought.

Choose a profession and sit for the whole day

Six classes: Swordsman, Monk, Mage, Thief, Archer and Merchant. It’s nothing strange to people who have gone through RO, but the skill tree for each job is quite thick, enough to sit and think about building for a while before starting.

What I like most is that the game still retains the potential scoring system and manual skill points. Decide which direction the character goes, not letting the game do it for you. Sitting and calculating whether I should focus on strength or speed or physical strength, I feel like I remember that feeling from when I didn’t know.

Newbies have the option to automatically increase in 3 preset directions if they don’t want trouble. As for Merchant, of course it is still the choice for those who like the “richest server” type.

The soul of Korean games that I like

Progress is slow and deliberate. Don’t level up to reach endgame for a few hours and then sit idle. With each level up, you can feel that the character is truly stronger, and with each new set of equipment you can see the difference. This type of progress suits me very well because it feels worth the effort.

Equipment can be enhanced, inheriting stats to new items, and higher ones can be crafted. The card system is also interesting, collect monsters and attach them to equipment to increase stats. The original RO doesn’t have this. At first I found it a bit strange, but once I got used to it I liked it, like there was one more thing to tinker with.

Guilds, dungeons, endless towers, daily quests are enough. I haven’t really finished CBT in a few days. When I log out, I always feel like I’m missing something.

CBT is closed, now register in advance to be sure

Closed Beta just ended on June 3. After I finished playing, I regretted that the server shut down too early. I had to stop when I was in the middle of the game.

Now the game is open for pre-registration for the official version. If you register early, you will receive a special gift, and more importantly, when the server opens, you can log in right away, without having to wait or be run over by your friends for a few days.

For old RO fans, I think there’s no need to explain much, the name Ragnarok is enough. For those who have never known RO, this is also a good opportunity to start, the game leads from the beginning well enough to enter from 0.
