MECCHA CHAMELEON: Instructions for controls and keyboard shortcuts on PC
Meccha Chameleon’s control system is quite simple but requires players to operate quickly and accurately. The game currently only supports keyboard and mouse, there is no official controller support yet. Below is the full default control scheme, the function of each key and how to reset the key.
Key points to remember
- Important keys: WASD to move, F opens drawing mode, R opens pose menu, middle mouse rotates character when painting.
- There are no sprints: Characters only have one movement speed, so make good use of your preparation time.
- Only keyboard and mouse are supported: If you want to play with a controller or Steam Deck, you need to set up the control layout yourself.
- Stick to the wall and adjust the position: Use Shift to leave the surface, Space and Ctrl to raise or lower the position while clinging.
- Keys can be changed: Open Settings in the pause menu to reassign or restore defaults.

Movement and running style
Characters move using combinations WASD and observe with mouse. The game does not have a quick run button, so the important factor is choosing a hiding location right at the beginning of the preparation phase. Go to the location first before opening paint mode to save time. Keys Ctrl Helps crouch to get into low areas or create a more natural camouflage position.
Control drawing tools
Press F to open drawing mode. Here, you can choose color, adjust RGB or Hex and change parameters such as gloss and roughness. The most useful tool is the Eyedropper, which allows color to be taken directly from the surrounding surface for precise camouflage. Use the left mouse button to paint and the middle mouse button to rotate the viewing angle, helping to fill all sides of the character.
Tips: Always sample the color from the surface you intend to camouflage instead of choosing the color manually.
Posture control and stealth
Press R to open the posture menu and choose a posture suitable for the environment. When clinging to a wall or object, use Space to raise position, Ctrl to lower and Shift to leave the surface. Correct positioning will help you blend in with wall paintings, shelves or other objects.
Seeker controller
Seeker uses a similar movement system, but has additional tracking aids.
- Left mouse: Mark suspicious players.
- Key 2: Turn on/off nameplate.
- Key 3: Enable paint-through view.
- Key 1: Provocation.
- T key: Chat
When searching, observe shape and posture instead of relying solely on color.
Supports controllers and Steam Decks
MECCHA CHAMELEON does not currently support official controllers on Steam. The game can still be played on the Steam Deck, but you need to use a control layout created by the community. Coloring with the touchpad or touch screen is more accurate than using the analog stick.
How to reset joystick
Open Settings from the main menu or pause menu to change keys. After editing, you should try it in a private room before entering the match. If an update changes the settings, restore the defaults and reassign the necessary keys.
