Minecraft Dungeons 2: Things players need to know
Minecraft Dungeons 2 is gradually becoming one of the most attractive action role-playing games in the Minecraft universe. Building on the success of the first part, Minecraft Dungeons 2 aims to deliver deeper gameplay, a better item collection system, and a larger world to explore.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 release date
In the announcement video, Mojang confirmed that Minecraft Dungeons 2 will be released in the fall of 2026. There is currently no exact release date, but the developers have hinted that more details will be shared in the near future.
On which platforms will Minecraft Dungeons 2 be released?
Minecraft Dungeons 2 will be released on the following platforms:
- Windows PC
- Xbox Series X/S
- PlayStation 5
- Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
- Game Pass
Similar to its predecessor, Minecraft Dungeons 2 still covers all platforms. While there’s still no confirmation of cross-platform support, based on the trend of sandbox or dungeon-crawler games, it’s likely that this feature will appear.
Content and story in Minecraft Dungeons 2
The official trailer for Minecraft Dungeons 2 reveals a mysterious threat rising after a period of peace. This is a classic motif, and players have been familiar with this story since the movie Minecraft was released.
Aside from those hints, one of the main highlights of the trailer is the Sculk block and the Deep Dark biome. In the trailer, Sculk quickly spreads, infecting the caves and a powerful and out-of-control force emerges.
The camera then focuses on the Ancient City, then moves to the city’s entrance in Minecraft. This is an important plot hint, suggesting a new dimension, and the story could expand beyond the Overworld. And Mojang, as usual, cleverly installed a hidden QR code in the Minecraft Dungeons 2 trailer.
Hidden video in the Minecraft Dungeons 2 trailer
This small QR code appears for a split second at the 0:13 mark of the Minecraft Dungeons 2 trailer. This QR code takes you to a hidden Minecraft website link containing an unlisted video. When you watch this video, you will see a strange creature, that looks like a Warden, singing with a flashing light in the background.
The creature in the video and the flashing lights aren’t the only things worth noting here. The page name of the secret link and the letters in the video title are not random. They are relevant and reveal something interesting.
If you use a hexadecimal string converter, the numbers 0x7370696365776f6f64 in the page title will translate to “spicewood” (wood spice). The title of this video, “TJG KIF RDE LSRD,” is also a cipher, and when you decode it with spicewoodthe result received is “Unlock the path” (Unlock the path).
Furthermore, the background lights up with musical notes of different colors. When you play the same sound on a Minecraft music block in reverse order, the output is the notes B(05), F(11), and A(15). If you convert the color of the music block from the official Minecraft Dungeons 2 trailer, it will output the sequence EFGBDGAC.
These official Minecraft Dungeons 2 leaks and reveals are more than just speculation. We can expect more details to be announced by Mojang during upcoming Minecraft Live events before the game launches.
Until then, here’s the gameplay description from the official trailer. See if you can find any more clues from this description!
