Mentimeter: Basic tutorial for online learning
Mentimeter is an easy -to -use projection tool that can create presentations, events, lectures and interactive and custom seminars to make them become creative and easy to understand. This application is being used a lot for online learning purposes, helping teachers create questions for students to answer or vote. In this article, let’s explore the basic mentimeter guide for online teaching and learning.
Create a mentimeter account
Step 1: Visit the homepage of mentimeter.
Step 2: Choose to register by Facebook, your Google account or enter email address information and password. Enter a valid email address, password long for at least 6 characters, full name.
Step 3: Press Sign up To complete the account registration.
Mentimeter interface
Home The page starts after logging into the mentimeter account, you can click on the mentimeter logo in the upper left corner to return to this screen. From here, users can create and access their recent presentations with just a few clicks.
Create presentation
Users can find 3 options to create new presentations in mentimeter:
- New Menti Will create an empty presentation
- Start with Ai Will take you to Ai Menti Builder
- Import presentation Will allow the existing file (.ppt, .pptx, .key or .pdf)
Regardless of the options, people will be taken directly to the editing mode to start editing their presentations.

My presentations
On the left of the homepage screen, people can see their workspace menu and presentation.
My presentations A place to find all personal presentations. Here, users can arrange their presentations into the folders and arrange both presentations and folders according to the name of the presentation or the name of the owner.
People can also use the search bar at the top of the screen if you are looking for a specific presentation.
Start the presentation
If clicked Delay icon On the left of the presentation name, users can start the presentation immediately without having to open the editing process first.
Presentation options
Click Three dots On the right of the presentation to open the menu for various actions such as renaming the presentation, moving the presentation into the folder, viewing the results or inviting collaborators.

- Trash The recent deleted presentation is from your account. They will be in the trash for 30 days, during that time can restore them into their accounts. After 30 days, they will be permanently erased.
Account menu
The menu in the upper right corner of your dashboard can help navigate straight to the installation, payment and group management pages: Settings work space, member management, groups and details about zero Working time (for owners or administrators of the group account).
Create a new presentation
Once logged into the mentimeter account, users can create a new presentation with a few simple steps:
Step 1: On the overview page, click the button +New presentation.
Step 2: Name the new presentation and click Create Presentation.
Step 3: Everyone will be taken directly to the editing mode to start adding the presentation pages.
Add slides to the presentation
To interact with viewers with mentimeter, the host can fill out his presentation with questions and content presentation. Users can also add fun multiple choice questions and Q&A (Q&A) features to allow the audience to ask the presenter directly.
How to create a new presentation page
Click +Add slide In the top left corner of the editing view.
On the right side of the editing type, select the type of presentation you want to add. The types of pages you can choose are:

The puzzle contest allows selecting answers and types of answers. After selecting the type of question, slide content, users need to enter the question and answer in the tab Content In the working area on the right of the screen. Click Customize To customize the interface and function of the slide.
Start the presentation
Once satisfied with your presentation, people can start presenting by clicking Present In the top right corner.
This operation will make the presentation in full screen mode and take the user to the interface Presentation View. Now, people can control the presentation and browse through the pages with the arrow keys, shortcuts or the menu using the menu Presentation. To open this presentation menu, move the mouse pointer to the bottom left corner of the presentation page.
Start quickly with an available sample
If you do not know where to start or want to quickly create a presentation, mentimeter has a large collection of examples and samples created in the sample section lying in Dashboard User.
If you want to start developing your presentation from a sample, click Templates instead of New presentation. People can use them in the original or edit to suit the content they want to share with their viewers.

Mentimeter users should use a desktop computer to set up questions and present. The usual way to present is to connect the computer to the projector, but can also try other ways.
The mentimeter presentation looks the best in the widescreen mode (frame ratio 16: 8 – 16: 9), but popular projector formats like 4: 3 are also supported. All ingredients in the presentation automatically change the ratio and resume, so users never have to worry about having a wrong format.
