Instructions for playing Lucid Blocks for new players

Step 1 – Understand loops

Lucid Blocks does not provide detailed instructions. When you start, you will be dropped into a randomly generated Dreamcore world. The core gameplay loop includes:

Discover: Wander through areas such as plastic cities, fields or abandoned warehouses and collect all the items you find.
Combine: Open the Apotheosis menu to fuse items into tools, weapons, or artifacts. There is no set formula – feel free to experiment.
Build and survive: Use voxel blocks to build and defend against enemies like Manikin, Squishy Gel,…

Step 2 – First combinations

Apotheosis is the item crafting system in Lucid Blocks

As soon as you combine any two items in Apotheosis, you will unlock your first achievement. No complicated calculations needed – just match any two items. After that, prioritize making a Wooden Pick (wooden pickaxe) to start the tool upgrade chain.

Important note:

The Apotheosis system works based on the “nature” of items. For example:

Metal + Metal → better metal tools
Organic + Organic → items related to living things

Step 3 – Initial basic formulas

Below are the important items for the first hour of play. Priority should be given in this order: Cabinet → Glider Glove → Azrael.

Qualia is a space for crafting and storing items

Qualia is a personal space where you can build, store, and come back to at any time. This is the first important milestone.

How to create Qualia:

Find Rejuvenation Anchor
Combined with a basic block in Apotheosis
Receive Clonaqualia Block
Set down and interact to enter your own world

Qualia is also the main place you build and can share with other players via Firmament.

Step 5 – Survive the Dream

Death in the game does not result in loss of items, but understanding your enemies will help you survive longer:

Manikins: Basic, predictable enemies → use Azrael to destroy.
Squishy Gel: Slow down movement → keep distance, use long-range attack.
Colossal Spider: Appears in deep areas → should be avoided at the beginning of the game.
Higher-dimensional Being: Late game enemies, teleport → only fight when you have strong equipment.
