Cheapest from 235 million, including hatchback, sedan, CUV, MPV

The trend of electric cars is increasingly evident in the Vietnamese market, when many new car models are launched in 2024. The price of less than 1 billion VND makes electric cars more accessible to domestic customers. However, charging station infrastructure – a major factor affecting customers’ car buying decisions – is currently only solved by VinFast.

Below is a list of electric car models priced under 1 billion VND launched this year.

Mini segment

VinFast VF 3 is the only new mini electric car model this year. This car model is becoming a “hot” item. One month, VF 3 sales reached nearly 5,000 vehicles, breaking a record in Vietnam.

VF 3 is a small car with 2 doors on both sides. The car price is easily accessible, starting from only 235 million VND (for pioneering customers). This price applies to battery rental vehicles. If you are not a pioneer buyer, the price of a battery rental car is 240 million VND. The purchase price with battery is 322 million VND.

VF 3 is designed like a miniature SUV. Even though it is a “cheap” car, the VF 3 still has an electronic parking brake, a gear lever behind the steering wheel, and a large 10-inch screen.

Hatchback segment

The hatchback segment witnessed the departure of many gasoline car models, such as the Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz or recently the Suzuki Swift. However, with electric cars, 2024 will welcome a number of new hatchback models.

Wuling Bingo is the latest hatchback model. Car price from 349 million VND. This price is equivalent to gasoline car groups such as Hyundai Grand i10 or Kia Morning.

Bingo has an easy-to-see design and many modern equipment such as a pair of large screens and electronic brakes. The maximum vehicle operating range is 510 km/charge.

BYD Dolphin is an electric hatchback model with a slightly higher price, from 659 million VND.

Dolphin is larger in size than Bingo. Interior equipment is more prominent thanks to the 12.8-inch central screen that can be rotated. Electric motor with battery gives a range of 405 km/charge.

The most expensive in the hatchback group is the MG4. This car model has a starting price of 828 million VND. The most advanced version is up to 948 million VND.

Compared to the above hatchback models, MG4 stands out in its ADAS safety package. The car’s amenities are not too outstanding. The vehicle’s operating range is about 450 km/charge.

Sedan segment

AION ES is the only electric sedan priced under 1 billion VND. This car model is about the same size as the Toyota Camry. Car price from 788 million VND.

The equipment of the ES is not too outstanding compared to gasoline cars in the same price range such as Kia K5 or Mazda6. The vehicle does not have ADAS. The vehicle’s operating range is about 440 km/charge.

CUV segment

In this segment, BYD Atto 3 is the only car model. The car price is from 766 million VND.

Atto 3 has a sophisticated interior design. The central 15.6-inch screen is quite large and can be rotated. 8-speaker sound, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, and panoramic sunroof are highlights inside. The vehicle has ADAS. Operating range up to 480 km/charge.

MPV segment

BYD M6 is an electric MPV model priced at 756 million VND. The size of this car model can be compared to Toyota Innova Cross.

The car has 7 seats. This car’s equipment is not much better than the Dolphin. The vehicle’s operating range is 420 km/charge.

The second electric MPV model is AION Y Plus priced at 888 million VND. The Y Plus size is a little smaller than the M6.

The Y Plus has an interior that looks neater and more modern than the M6, with a 10.25-inch screen combined with a 14.6-inch touch screen. The car’s technology is also more notable with many ADAS features and a 540-degree camera. The vehicle’s operating range is up to 490 km/charge.
