TMNT: The Last Ronin reveals first trailer, developed by PlatinumGames – Game News

At Summer Game Fest 2026, Paramount Games has officially announced the first trailer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Roninand confirmed PlatinumGames as the project developer.

Previously, Paramount confirmed the game was being developed but did not reveal the studio. With the new announcement, fans already know that TMNT The Last Ronin is being assigned to the team that created famous action games such as Bayonetta and NieR: Automata.

This is not the first time PlatinumGames has worked with the brand Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In 2016, the studio used to grow Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. However, this comeback received more expectations thanks to the quality of the original comic The Last Roninone of the Ninja Turtle franchise’s most critically acclaimed stories in years.

According to Paramount Games, TMNT The Last Ronin will be a AAA action-adventure game revolving around the last surviving Ninja Turtle on a desperate journey of revenge.

The publisher also avoided revealing the identity of the main character to maintain the element of surprise for those who have never read the original comic.

Notice about TMNT: The Last Ronin also marked the official launch of Paramount Games Studio, a newly established division to focus on developing games based on Paramount’s IP inventory.

According to the company, the goal of this unit is to build large-scale game experiences based on its famous film, television and entertainment brands.

Shawn Kittelsen, Senior Vice President of Creative and Production at Paramount Games, said:

“Strong stories are what keep a franchise alive, and games are one of the most powerful mediums for fans to truly enter the world of that story.”

He also emphasized that:

“TMNT: The Last Ronin is a prime example of this vision realized.”

Paramount Games Studio is led by many employees who have worked at major game companies.

In addition to Shawn Kittelsen, the leadership team also includes Dan Prigg (who held senior positions at Scopely and Unity), Andrea Silvers (EA and EA Sports), Kara Bilkiss (Sony Pictures and Rogue Games) and Ray Davis, who was involved in development.
