Review Quick Share on Galaxy S26 Ultra: Super convenient!
Galaxy S26 Ultra officially supports the AirDrop protocol to help Samsung and iPhone users transfer high-quality data stably and easily.
If you are a true Samfan but your family uses an iPhone, or you are simply using a Galaxy S26 Ultra and an iPad for work, surely transferring photos and videos back and forth is always an “obsession”.
However, Samsung’s latest update in March 2026 has really changed the game. The Quick Share feature is now not only exclusive to the Galaxy ecosystem but officially supports sending and receiving files directly with Apple devices via the AirDrop protocol.
Let’s “dissect” this extremely valuable experience on Samsung’s most powerful flagship today.

Quick Share Update: The key to opening the door to AirDrop
The key point for you to be able to use this “divine” feature is the software version. In the recently released system update weighing about 876MB, Samsung has silently upgraded Quick Share to the new version (ending with code 5158).
This is the “key” to help my Galaxy S26 Ultra have a completely new option in the settings.
Practical experience shows that installation is extremely simple. You just need to go to the Connected devices section, select Quick Share and you will immediately see a new switch allowing sharing with Apple devices. What’s interesting is that Samsung has enabled this feature by default after the update, helping users not have to tinker too much and still be able to use it immediately.
Shooting photos from Galaxy S26 Ultra to iPad is lightning fast
I immediately tested it with a photo I just took with the 200MP camera of the Galaxy S26 Ultra to send to my work iPad. The process is incredibly smooth: just select a photo, click share via Quick Share, and immediately an iPad icon appears with the words “AirDrop” below.
When you click, the iPad side will display a notification to receive files from the Galaxy S26 Ultra just like when you are using two iPhones together. Impressive transmission speed, high-capacity image files are sent almost instantly without the need for any intermediary steps or third-party applications like before.
This really solves the annoying problem that users often encounter when working in multi-device environments.
Stability and security patches included
In addition to Quick Share, this update also brings important improvements to the One UI 8.5 interface on Android 16. Although the current security patch is still displayed as February 2026, Samsung has incorporated many important fixes from Google, especially patches for Smart Switch and Samsung Account security.
System applications such as the Home Screen or Lock Screen have also been upgraded to new versions to help the device operate more smoothly.
Is it worth a try? For me, yes
Personally, I think Quick Share is a “once used, hard to get rid of” feature. It’s not too flashy, but extremely practical. Especially for those who are using many devices in different ecosystems in parallel, this is almost the simplest solution currently.
In short, if you are using Samsung and have struggled to transfer files between Android and Apple, this update is worth a try.
