Releasing a “disaster” skin based on Arcane, Riot received severe criticism
Skin Arcane Jinx is considered a “disaster” from Riot
It’s no exaggeration to say that season 2 of the movie Arcane is considered a true masterpiece as it conveys profound and meaningful stories. There, the conflicts, struggles in terms of power, society, and touching emotional scenes are all portrayed extremely excellently. The fact that all 9 episodes of Arcane season 2 were scored above 9 points according to IMDb’s rating is probably more than enough to show the quality of this movie.

However, when returning to League of Legends, many of Riot’s Arcane spin-off products are making the community angry. Yesterday (December 2), we mentioned that Riot received a lot of “criticism” for remaking Viktor’s image and interface. Until today (December 3), when the Arcane Jinx skin was officially revealed on the PBE server, it continued to cause great anger from the League of Legends gaming community.
The first reason comes from the fact that to own this limited costume, players are required to participate in a “gacha” system with a 0.5% rate of receiving Arcane Jinx on each roll. And to be sure to receive this skin (also known as “insurance”), the player will have to roll a maximum of 80 times with a value of 32 thousand RP. This RP is worth 250 USD (about 6 million VND), and on the Vietnamese server, gamers will have to buy 5 packages of 1 million VND to have enough RP to own this outfit.
The rate of receiving the Arcane Jinx costume per roll is 0.5%
You will have to spend 32 thousand RP for 80 rolls to definitely receive the Arcane Jinx costume
What’s more worth mentioning here is that with the “heavenly” price mentioned above, the effects that Arcane Jinx brings are considered not worthy at all. Accordingly, this outfit is introduced to help Jinx possess 3 different shapes, but 2 of them are 99% similar. Furthermore, all variants of Arcane Jinx move similarly and do not possess special recall animations or emotes. Besides, the weapons of this skin also do not have any special shape based on Jinx’s transformation. And what makes many people extremely disappointed is that Arcane Jinx does not possess the Pentakill effect even though this is a champion that can do this relatively easily.

Even the recall animation doesn’t change between forms
What makes many gamers disappointed is that Arcane Jinx does not have the Pentakill effect that changes the map like Miraculous Winter Diana or Dark Phantom Pyke even though it is one level higher than them.
The community is angry with Riot because the Arcane follow-up product is of poor quality
As soon as the images of the Arcane Jinx skin were revealed, it created a huge wave of outrage in the League of Legends community. It is important to know that Jinx is a very popular character in both League of Legends and the movie Arcane, so her “Supreme” outfit is expected to be of very high quality. Furthermore, Riot itself also introduced that this is an “extremely luxurious” and “super exclusive” skin, which is why it has created such great expectations. And when they do not meet that expectation, it is quite understandable that Riot receives harsh criticism from the community.
“Everyone knows how bad this skin is when even Whale guys who spend money like water still call it a scam” – A gamer shared
“For 250 USD, I would expect actress Ella Purnell to voice this skin and it would have animations related to the movie” – Another player confirmed
“Riot said: ‘Ultimate skin is what happens when we let our team be creative’. Please, don’t let them do that in the future” – Another player frankly criticized Riot
As mentioned above, Arcane is a great movie that meets both the entertainment factor and high quality storytelling. However, the fact that Riot Games released follow-up products of inadequate quality such as the Arcane Jinx skin or the Viktor remake has made that greatness incomplete. Hopefully Riot will soon have a plan to fix these “error” products before they officially launch.
