MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls announces Magneto, Carnage and Green Goblin – Game News
At the latest State of Play event, Arc System Works announced the fourth squad to participate in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Called the Knights of Doom, this group of villains is led by Doctor Doom and adds three new playable characters including Magneto, Green Goblin and Carnage.
Besides revealing the new gladiators, the developer also introduced more details about the plot, the new arena, and the game’s central villain.
According to Arc System Works, the Knights of Doom are one of the teams participating in the main tournament MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Although Doctor Doom was previously announced, this is the first time Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage have officially appeared as playable characters.
The developer said the relationships between the team members as well as the reason for their alliance with Doctor Doom will be explained through Episode Mode, the game’s story mode.
Along with the new lineup, Arc System Works also introduced a night version of Marvel’s New York level. This is considered the home ground of Knights of Doom with a view of New York City bathed in night lights and contains many Easter Eggs for Marvel fans.
In MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting SoulsMagneto still possesses the familiar ability to control magnetic fields.
This character’s gameplay focuses on taking advantage of the surrounding environment to attack opponents. Magneto can lift and throw objects on the field, then the remaining fragments will continue to be used to strengthen other skills.
Arc System Works says this mechanism helps Magneto become increasingly dangerous as the match lasts and the field contains many destructible objects.

Spider-Man’s archenemy is built around the ability to move at high speed using his signature glider.
Green Goblin can continuously apply pressure from afar with weapons such as Pumpkin Bombs or Razor Bats before rushing in to perform aerial attacks.
According to the developer, Green Goblin’s skill set is designed to create unpredictable situations and disrupt the opponent’s fighting rhythm.

Carnage continues to maintain the familiar brutal villain image in Marvel comics.
In combat, he can transform his arms into sharp blades and use symbiote tentacles to continuously close in on his opponents.
In particular, tentacle attacks can cause the target to fall into a “symbiote-infested” state. At that time, Carnage’s skills will be significantly enhanced, allowing him to deal damage through defense and drain the enemy’s blood, creating extremely dangerous attack chains.
Arc System Works also officially introduced The Champion of the Universe, a character confirmed to be the greatest threat in the storyline of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
As an Elder of the Universe who has lived billions of years, The Champion and his companion named The Promoter continuously travel throughout the universe in search of the strongest opponents.
The game’s central tournament called “The Challenge of the Champion” will bring together four-person teams to compete. The final winning team will win the right to challenge The Champion to decide the fate of Earth.
