IOE 2025-2026 exam schedule – Self-practice schedule and official IOE 2025-2026 exam rounds
IOE is an online English Olympic competition, for students from elementary to high school levels nationwide. IOE is a useful English playground, creating equal access to English and IT for all students, helping students from grades 3 to 12 across the country cultivate and practice listening – speaking, reading – writing skills in an easy way.
IOE self-study and official exam rounds for the 2025-2026 school year have officially opened starting from August 15, 2025 to May 4, 2026.. IOE’s tests are designed to be intuitive and diverse with a smart approach, helping to form English learning habits for students.

Students and teachers should note that the IOE self-study and exam schedule may change depending on the actual situation of the school year and will be updated as soon as there are changes.

IOE competition rules for the 2025-2026 school year
Participating subjects
Students from grades 1 to 12 nationwide have access to the Internet and voluntarily register as members and participate in the IOE English competition.
Register to participate
a. Each student can only register one account on the website: https://ioe.vn/ (refer to Instructions on how to register an IOE account for students to create a new account).
b. Students go to the website and log in with their registered username and password. After successfully logging in, students click Select Go practice now/Take the exam now to participate.
c. IOE accounts used during the 2024-2025 school year need to have their education information updated to be consistent with the 2025-2026 school year. The system opens the feature of updating educational information from 9:00 a.m. on August 15, 2025 to 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2025.
Exam content
The system provides exam questions randomly drawn from a database of nearly 300,000 English questions from all grade levels, and content is continuously added every year. Questions are classified into each Round, equivalent to the official Rounds, allowing students to practice more knowledge at any time. A practice test consists of many questions to be taken continuously for 30 minutes.
Exam format
- Take the exam online on a computer connected to the Internet.
- The test is displayed at the website: https://ioe.vn/.
- Each round will have its own score and time.
- Each student has a separate exam, with an exam code according to each supervisory board.
Number of rounds
Complete the Self-Practice lesson: The Self-Practice round will be a mandatory condition for students to register for official exams at all levels. The system will open 35 Self-Training rounds every Monday (except Self-Training round No. 1, which opens on Friday), starting from August 15, 2025.
When starting to participate in Self-Practice at any time during the school year, students will start from self-practice round number 1. When completing the Self-Practice tests, students click Save the results to complete and move to the next Self-Training round that has been opened on the system or press Redo to continue practicing your current round. If pressed Save the resultsstudents will not be able to return to practice the completed round.
Participate in the official exam: Students who complete the self-training round and authenticate their account to have the school teacher register the official exam list on the system will be eligible to participate in the exam.
Exam experience: Before each official exam (school, commune/ward, and province/city level), IOE will open Exam Experience for all grade levels, announcements will be posted on the ioe.vn homepage. This is an opportunity for students to experience the exam like an official exam, test their knowledge and become familiar with the exam method. After the exam experience ends, the list of TOP highest scores will be announced on the homepage.
Candidate ranking
Every week, the system ranks the Self-Practice results of the current round of students who have completed this round by Class/School/District, District/Province, City and Country. Ranking results are based on the criteria of total score, exam time and then number of attempts.
When participating and completing the official exam, students can view exam results at all levels, view results displaying TOP system scores and Honor List. Ranking results are based on the criteria of total score and exam time.
