Main gameplay of the game Scary Shawarma Kiosk: The Anomaly
- Running the shawarma counter on the night shift: Taking orders, preparing and serving customers, including taking lavash from the side, adding sauce from the ingredient tray, adding cheese and salad, adding meat, wrapping and rolling the cake. If you run out of meat, head to the grill to cut more. The meat will automatically be transferred to the meat tray.
- The orders are sometimes quite strange, and the ordering dialogue doesn’t always match exactly what you need to make. If the message “You forgot something” appears, it means you need to get fresh water from the cooler and give it to the guest.
- Monitor energy, materials, and other stats to keep counters running.
- Must follow strange rules posted on the counter to survive until morning. These rules gradually become creepy as strange and dangerous events appear.
- Your mission is to survive the shift and serve customers… but make sure they are real customers, not things pretending to be customers.
- Encounter “anomaly” (abnormal things) such as mutated customers, monsters, supernatural events that suddenly appear and force you to react properly to avoid the end of your shift.
- “Corruptions” can be purchased – special in-game buffs to help overcome more difficult situations.
Horror and challenging points
- The game has startling jump-scares and scary situations without warning.
- Requires players to comply with surreal rules such as not looking at certain characters, leaving the counter at the right time when there is a special event… if violated, it will lead to failure or the end of the game.
- Survive 99 Days mode – an intense challenge of surviving 99 consecutive nights.
Rules in Scary Shawarma Kiosk: The Anomaly
You will find the rules written on a piece of paper taped to the wall. They are important for survival:
- If a customer with a creepy smile shows up, give him a can of soda.
- The wet and moving package he gives you must be sealed and stored under the counter.
- Every Friday night around 2 a.m., a car without a driver would arrive. It’s an inspection. Please exit out the back door immediately. Never look at the shawarma counter while checking out. Absolutely not.
- If the meat on the skewer begins to pulse and groan, turn off the heat and leave. Don’t listen to the voices in the meat. They just want you to stay.
- If an absent person comes to order, serve him, but don’t look him in the face.
- Some guests are absolutely not allowed to be served. Please close the window immediately.
- Never open the door unless absolutely necessary.
Anomalies and you
- The key to surviving a shift at a shawarma counter is to distinguish between normal late-night eaters and… unusual people.
- If you encounter a guest with unnatural behavior or appearance, press the button to the left of the door to close the shutters to make them leave.
- Strange signs may include: White eyes, unusual jerky movements, talking nonsense, making no sense or saying incomprehensible sentences, with strange metaphors.
Some people are not anomaly; they’re just a little weird. Often you have to judge based on their level of insecurity. If you accidentally serve a mutant, you won’t die immediately, but bad things will happen. They don’t count towards the visitor quota, and the more anomalies you let through, the more you’re allowing something else in… it’s very difficult to recognize it when you see it.
Surveillance cameras (CCTV)
One of the important ways to identify guests who look normal but are actually mutants is CCTV cameras. It’s on the left side of the window. There are two cameras: front and rear, both with night vision mode.
When deciding whether or not to serve, check the CCTV. If you see the following signs, it is a clear warning:
- Guests disappear when night vision mode is turned on.
- A copy of the guest appears in the rear camera.
- A creature clings to the customer’s back.
- The person’s clone approached the camera and started screaming.
- The camera doesn’t work at all.
Detection of Heterogeneity
The following cases are definitely anomalies and you should close the window immediately:
- Any incidents listed in the CCTV section.
- A customer the waiter said had been here before, and he answered “Yes. Before” with a strange tone.
- Two twin brothers, one has a constantly twitching head.
- A woman with white eyes and a face full of wrinkles.
- One customer had round holes all over his back.
- One client had black patches on his arms and legs.
- An old man talking nonsense.
- Someone calls themselves a “hacker” and will cause your game to be disconnected.
Strange customers but not Anomalies
Some guests are simply eccentric. You should still serve them to avoid penalties, for example:
- The drunk guy didn’t have money to pay for the shawarma.
- Man wearing karate uniform.
- Woman dancing.
- The woman has arms that taper towards her head. (This case has inconsistent results. Sometimes it is counted as an anomaly, sometimes not, depending on the version.)
The man smiled
A man with a creepy smile will appear at some point during the night. He didn’t say anything. When he comes, give him a can of soda from the cooler behind you. He will give you a strange, wiggling envelope. Take it and keep it under the counter.
If you give him the wrong thing, he will most likely appear right at the door, so don’t do it wrong.
The meat wiggled abnormally
If the meat begins to deform and behave abnormally, run to the switch to turn off the grill and leave as soon as possible. It may get aggressive when you do that, but you should still do it.
Inspection period
At 2 a.m., the Inspection will take place. The sign that you will immediately recognize is that the screen turns red and a car stops outside. When this happens, go straight out the back door, turn your back to the counter, and stand still until the lighting returns to normal.
People without faces
As stated in the law, a person with a deeply sunken face will appear during the shift. Complete his order and avoid eye contact. More precisely, avoid looking at the pit on the face. Just do that, everything will go smoothly.
Other things to worry about
You will likely see a lot of bizarre events throughout the night. If something makes you uneasy, remember that you can always close the shutters, wait a moment and then check again to see if the problem is gone, unless it’s something inside the shawarma counter. Then you may have to face it directly.
New: Christmas event
The Christmas event is now live, with a number of new interactions and changes to the game, including:
- Snow falls, and will accumulate more over time.
- Christmas decorations in the shawarma stand.
- New anomalies may appear.
- Santa Claus may come to visit. We weren’t sure if it was really Santa, and the bag he was carrying looked like he was struggling. Close the shutters when he appears.
End the game
To reach the end, you need to complete the customer quota (shown above the rule sheet, to the right of the counter). When done, the time will change to morning and you can leave.
