All attacking roles in EA Sports FC 25
Target Forward (ST)
An attacking player with good physicality allows him to keep the ball, shield it from opponents and bring others into the attack, while also winning crosses as well as passes to the feet.
- Attack (Focus 1) – Target Forward can focus on moving forward without any defensive instructions.
- Balanced (Focus 2) – Target Forward will leave the defense, hold the ball and pass the ball to teammates, taking on small-scale defensive duties.

- Complete (Focus 2) – Advanced Forward is free to move out wide when needed to receive a pass or create space with a run.
Winger (LW/RW)

Inside Forward (LW/RW)
The Inside Forward starts on the wing, but frequently cuts inside with his dominant foot to shoot or make the final pass. They tend to run in behind the defense.
- Attack (Focus 1) – Inside Forward will focus on cutting inside and making attacking runs.
- Balanced (Focus 2) – Inside Forward will provide minimal defensive support and at times will not run out behind to provide passing options.

Half Winger (CAM/CM)
A midfielder creates width when their team is in possession, moving along the flanks to create a wide threat. Particularly effective as one of three central midfielders.
- Attack (Focus 1) – Half Winger can freely advance, temporarily ignoring defensive responsibilities.
- Balanced (Focus 2) – Half Winger will alternate between attack and defense in a balanced way.
Playmaker (CAM/CM)
This player tends to be the creative fulcrum of the midfield, allowed to move and create space and opportunities to attack. There is a possibility of losing position if the opponent counterattacks.
- Attack (Focus 1) – Playmaker will advance to support attacks higher up the field.
- Balanced (Focus 2) – Playmaker will assist in defense when needed, as well as coordinate attacks.
- Roaming (Focus 3) – Playmaker will be able to freely explore the field to find the best position to support the attack.

Deep-Lying Playmaker (CDM/CM)
Key to building play from the back, this defensive midfielder is often the catalyst for attacks.
- Defend (Focus 1) – With a Defend focus, the deep-lying playmaker will focus on blocking passes and staying put while their team attacks.
- Roaming (Focus 2) – Focus Roaming allows the deep-lying playmaker to move across the width of the field to support attacks.
Box-to-Box (CM)
This player operates between the two boxes, not being the last line of defense, nor the last part of the attack, but participating in everything in between.
- Balance (Focus 1) – When asked to Balance, the shuttle midfielder will cover the center of the field in both attack and defense.
Center Half (CDM)
A defensive midfielder will drop the ball between the centre-backs while the team is in possession of the ball to protect against counter-attacks.
- Defend (Focus 1) – When set to Defend, the central defender will focus on his defensive duties.
