Things to know about Evolution in EA Sports FC 26’s Ultimate Team
Evolutions (EVO) in EA Sports FC 26’s Ultimate Team allowing players to upgrade player cards, making existing stars stronger or turning favorite bronze and silver players into “field monsters” with stats above 80. With EVO in FC 26, players have more freedom to build their dream team, and many of those features are free.
To upgrade and complete Evolutions, players will have to participate in matches with these player cards and complete the objectives but the effort is completely worth it.
How do Evolutions in EA Sports FC 26 work?
To find the Evolutions tab, go to Club > select Evolutions to the right of the Squad tab. Players can view available upgrades, some of which cost Coins or FC Points, while others are free. New upgrades will be added every week.
EVO conditions
Note that each EVO has certain requirements for players, which may include requiring the player card to:
- Below a specific rating.
- In a certain position.
- Not in a certain position.
- There isn’t too much Gameplay.
By clicking on EVO, a list of eligible cards will be displayed and the user can select the player they want to upgrade. You can scroll through each upgrade stage, seeing exactly what stats, Playstyles, and positions are added.
There are different deadlines for EVO confirmation and completion. For example, an EVO may need to be claimed within 24 hours, but the player then has a week to complete it.
Once satisfied, confirm EVO, this may include paying in Coins or FC Points. However, the card will not be upgraded yet as the goal needs to be completed for the upgrade to take place.
Complete the goal to upgrade EVO in Sports FC
You can view the target in the tab My Evolutions. Objectives can only be completed for active EVO players, and these slots will be filled automatically. In your squad, players with active EVO will have a green circle next to their card.
Most users can only have 2 active EVOs at a time, but Ultimate Edition and EA Pro Play owners can have 3 active EVOs. This limit was increased in December 2025.
Typically, these objectives will require EVO players to compete in Squad Battles with at least Semi Pro difficulty or in Rush/Rivals/Champions/Live Events online matches. For these matches, you can play partially or fully.
The squad matches are fairly quick, with two 4-minute halves. If players only have one active EVO, Rush matches are another good option.
EVO upgrades must be received after completing each objective. Remember to check back after each match to receive upgrades and start the next objective.
Some goals will require playing multiple matches, while others add the condition that the match must be won or that the active EVO must score a certain number of goals. Simple EVO upgrades that only slightly improve the player’s stats may have only one objective, while EVO upgrades that add 15 points to the player’s overall stats will require completing multiple objectives.
The best EVO upgrades in FC 26 will also give player cards a new visual look, depending on the theme at hand.
