Why do I like Komi-san? Storm Knight
I started reading Komi san after a long time of devouring the series that were so boring that I lost faith in life. Komi-san is actually still based on the usual stereotypes of a romcom, a female lead that people look up to and a male lead that lacks prominence. But then very quickly, the story gradually escapes that boring pattern when we discover that that talented goddess has a fear of communication syndrome… well… no one is as perfect as their children. Where… and that boy who doesn’t have anything outstanding is someone who can read the other person’s emotions… even though he’s still a bit stupid in recognizing the other person’s feelings. Personally, I started watching Komi san’s inability to communicate with a head full of prejudice, probably a series that uses girls’ bodies to make fun of and then inserts harem elements to retain superficial viewers.
And of course…I was disastrously mistaken. In addition to the two main characters Komi and Tadano, the supporting characters are also extremely interesting. In fact, there are few manga series that have a huge number of characters like Komi-san, but the beauty is that the story takes great care of the characters. Any character has a unique personality and a relatively reasonable development. Najimi, Yamai, Omoharu, Katai, Nene, Rumiko,… there are so many characters that we can never forget even if we want to forget them. Or even the main male lead Tadano, he himself is a very attractive person even though he doesn’t have a super handsome appearance, super rich family or special talents. Everything Tadano shows is sophistication, understanding, always paying attention to the smallest details and wholeheartedly caring for his friends. After all, Tadano coming to Komi was completely worth it. Who said “good guys come last?”
That’s the character, so what about the plot? Of course, in the spirit of a Romcom, Komi-san’s story is very gentle, cute and the emotional details are also very pure instead of confusing panty zoom scenes like other anime and manga. I know that capitalists need to make profits, but capitalists! There’s no need to show off clothes that are topless or bottomless. If you do something about pure school love like this, there will still be a lot of viewers. Back to the main issue, the main character duo is also quite interesting and makes any viewer feel excited. The story’s details also unfold very naturally and reasonably without being forced. If someone says that the manga still has a lot of exaggerated details, I would like to answer this question in the following section
The world in Komi-san is a school world where every student in the school loves each other. Every character has their own look, everyone has their own differences but they are all accepted. There is no bullying, no exam pressure, no bad friends who are jealous of other people’s success… Everyone in the school loves each other very much even though at first our male protagonist was a bit discriminated against. little. Moreover, the Itan school that the characters attend always has very fun activities such as summer festivals, Christmas holidays, sports festivals, etc. Just hearing about it makes you feel excited, right? It doesn’t make up for the old days when I went to school and had to sit from morning to noon, then from noon to afternoon to the point where I sometimes fell asleep for tens of minutes… Hmm… I hope my old teacher doesn’t see this video. If any of you here are still going to school or have committed the same mistakes as me, please repent immediately
“Rom” did well so what about “Com”? Regarding comedy, it’s enough, usually people will exaggerate a few details to make them laugh – a very basic way to be funny that anyone can do. However, anyone can do it is one thing, doing it with grace or not is another matter. If not done carefully, it can easily make viewers feel uncomfortable. And of course, Komi san did not go down this path as the situations all made me laugh out loud but were not ungainly. Instead of the male lead’s face smashing into the chest, the details in Komi are all quite unpleasant. Speaking specifically about “Com”, the anime does much better than the manga when the anime has music and movement while the manga is…still at a moderate level. Having said that, overall, it’s clear that the manga is a winner because the anime’s s2 is of very poor quality. If you haven’t watched it yet… well, just continue watching this video. Don’t have to waste time going out to do anything tiring
Actually, it’s not true that Komi-san doesn’t have fan service or harem. But Komi’s fan service is just super cute moments of the main character, at most there is only a sauna scene of the female characters. As for the harem element, it’s more like idol fandom or pure friendship. Both Komi and Tadano have unrequited crushes, but they both choose to be together and are clear about their feelings for each other. This… actually, stories like this where the male and female protagonists become couples is a sooner or later thing, so it’s not considered a spoiler, everyone. Oh, I forgot, not only the main couple, the supporting couples are also very well taken care of. In general, the author of Komi is very thoughtful in that every character is invested in, not only their personality but also their relationship.
In the end,…even though it’s a romcom, that doesn’t mean Komi-san doesn’t have emotional moments. In the most spoiler-free way possible, Komi and her friends help a little girl gradually open up and accept new friends. The moment both the girl and Komi’s family broke up also made me unforgettable as the two had a super special contest. For details, you guys should read this manga right away
In short, Komi-san wa comyushou does not suffer from the inherent problems of the romcom instant noodle anime series floating on the market that I mentioned above. Because it’s a typical rom-com, Komi-san won’t be able to change your lives immediately. However, this manga can still completely cure your bad day. And these are all my feelings and reviews about Komi can’t communicate.
