Turn off autoplay of videos in chat
When receiving or sending videos in a Zalo chat, automatically playing the video even without touching the file can consume a lot of mobile data. So to stop unwanted video playing, people can disable this feature by visiting the tab Individual > click settings icon in the top right corner.
Then choose Message > continue clicking Automatically play videos. Finally, choose Play only when using Wi-Fi so that Zalo does not automatically play videos when using 4G, or No autoplay to disable this feature completely.
Turn off automatic playback of voice messages
Just like videos, autoplay applies to voice messages. While this makes listening to audio conversations faster, it also consumes mobile data unnecessarily. In addition, when in public places, accidentally playing a voice message through the speakerphone can cause inconvenience and discomfort, so people can turn off this feature with the following steps:
Open tab Individual in Zalo > click installation gear > select Message > turn off switch at Automatically play voice messages.
Turn off autoplay of videos on logs
Diaries on Zalo act as a social network, where users share videos, images, etc. When surfing the diary, these videos automatically run and will also waste data, so to save money, people can turn it off by accessing setting > select Diary > click Automatically play videos > select Play only when using Wi-Fi or No autoplay.
Turn off autoplay of music on diary
Not only does it allow posting videos, Zalo’s Diary also has the ability to share statuses with music. These music and songs also play automatically if the feature is activated, consuming data capacity. To turn off automatic music playback, users need to open it setting > select Diary > click Automatically play music > select Play only when using Wi-Fi or No autoplay.
Turn off application auto-launch
On Android devices, users can turn off automatic app launch to avoid consuming battery, mobile data and RAM, causing reduced performance. To disable auto launch, open Setting > Application > Application management > select app Zalo > turn off toggle switch at Auto launch in section Rights.
