Vietnamese game studio, Panthera Global, raises $1.5 million in initial round – Game News

Panthera Global – “mid-core” mobile game development studio based in Hanoi (Vietnam) – has just announced attracting 1.5 million USD in seed round capital, to promote product development and expand the scale of operations in the global market.

This funding round was led by T-Accelerate Capitalwith the participation of CyberAgent Capital – a companion investor.

Established in 2023, Panthera Global Orienting the development of mobile games in the “mid-core” genre (mid-core, a type of game between easy-to-play “casual” and professional “hardcore”) RPG and Action RPG, aiming at long-term experiences for global players instead of just short-term revenue.

According to data released by the company, the studio has released many games with a total of more than 7.5 million downloads, including products such as Box Head: Roguelikereaching more than 2.5 million downloads with high player retention rate and ROAS – demonstrating the direction of sustainable development in the “mid-core” game segment.

Other products in Panthera’s portfolio include Soul Hunterss (action RPG), Elysia: The Astral Fall (idle open-world RPG), and many other projects are in soft-launch or development stages.

According to the announcement from the team Panthera Globalthe capital of 1.5 million USD will be used to:

• Strengthen the internal development and game operations (live-ops) team for existing games
• Accelerate the progress of “mid-core” RPG projects from production to soft launch and operation on an international scale,
• Invest in data, analytics and content to enhance player experience and long-term IP scalability.

Co-founder Panthera GlobalVuong Kien, said the company wants to “change the way the world views Vietnamese games, not only by quantity but by quality, creativity and lasting value for players”.

Carol Wong, founding partner at T-Accelerate Capital, commented that the more than $1.5 million invested in Panthera is because of the team’s ability to “combine global ambition with strong operational skills”, in line with the fund’s trend of seeking “internationally ready gaming companies with strong execution and long-term strategy”.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, representative of CyberAgent Capital Vietnam, said that Panthera is a typical example of the transition of the Vietnamese game industry to more complex “mid-core” games and towards a global brand.
