Van Tung’s persistent career journey
The character in the frame is Van Tung – one of the familiar commentators of Vietnamese League of Legends. For those who have been following him for a long time, this image is not simply the story of a fan meeting his idol, but also reminds of the journey of more than a decade with League of Legends of a person working behind the spotlight.

Starting from a passion for League of Legends
Le Van Tung, born in 1995, is currently a commentator, streamer and content creator who has been with League of Legends Vietnam for a long time. In 2023, he married his girlfriend Mai Dora – a famous MC and KOL in the esports community.
Van Tung approached League of Legends from the early years of this game’s appearance in Vietnam, around 2013. At that time, esports was still a new concept, lacking a systematic training system and almost no clear career path. However, it is that newness that nourishes the pure passion of the first players, including Van Tung.

Not only stopping at playing games, he spends a lot of time watching international tournaments, especially LCK, learning the tactics, meta and how to operate the squad of top teams. This is also an important foundation to help him form analytical thinking later.
Turning point to embark on the path of commentary
2016 marked a major turning point in Van Tung’s career when he began seriously participating in League of Legends commentary work. From small-scale tournaments, he gradually accumulated experience, honed his communication skills, ability to analyze and master his voice, and fully prepared to become a professional commentator.

During the first time he embarked on his professional career, Van Tung encountered a lot of pressure, even receiving negative comments about his somewhat “young” commentary style. However, after each match, Van Tung accumulated more experience and gradually overcame his limitations, becoming the bright spot of the young commentators at that time thanks to his coherent, easy-to-understand commentary style, balanced between expertise and emotions. He does not try to create “tricks” or controversial personalities, but focuses on helping the audience approach the match in a clearer and easier to understand way.
Analyst role at GAM Esports
In 2019, Van Tung joined GAM Esports as an analyst, working directly with the coaching staff, including coach Tinikun. This is a rare period when he leaves the commentary spotlight to enter the backstage of professional competition.

Experience at GAM Esports helps Van Tung have a more realistic and profound view of the top competition environment, including tactical preparation, player psychology, and performance pressure. This knowledge then became a great advantage when he returned to the role of expert commentator and analysis, helping his comments and assessments be highly appreciated by the viewer community.
Leaving GAM, joining BOX Studio and a period of personal explosion
By 2020, Van Tung left GAM Esports to join BOX Studio, focusing on the path of streamer and youtuber. This is considered a strategic decision, helping him expand his personal coverage in the context of esports content on digital platforms is exploding.
At BOX Studio, Van Tung became one of the key faces in co-streaming and analyzing major tournaments, especially LCK and LPL. His style of creating content meticulously and regularly helps him build a loyal and stable community of viewers.
Personal impression: Commentator associated with LCK and T1
In the eyes of the Vietnamese League of Legends community, Van Tung is one of the commentators with the deepest attachment to LCK. His understanding of the tournament, Korean teams and players helps him become a “fulcrum” for Vietnamese audiences every time they watch LCK, even during periods when the tournament is not officially broadcast.

Besides, he is also known to be a longtime fan of T1 and Faker. However, throughout his career, Van Tung always kept a clear boundary between personal feelings and professionalism. Despite his obvious love for a team, Van Tung still maintains a neutral analytical and professional approach, helping to maintain credibility over his many years in the profession.
A persistent journey
Throughout the journey of making esports, viewers can see the enthusiasm Van Tung puts into each game or video he creates. During a livestream session, the male MC once shared that he will continue to work as a commentator until the game League of Legends is officially eliminated. This confirms Van Tung’s appeal as a channel providing knowledge about games, instead of simply entertaining or humorous. Audiences bonded with him because of his pleasant voice, deep knowledge and serious style.
It can be said that Van Tung is a typical representative of the class of commentators who rise up through perseverance, seriousness and true love for the profession. His professional journey reflects the fact that success in Vietnam’s esports scene does not come from a temporary boom, but from a long-term accumulation process behind the scenes.
