This simple tip can help you increase the volume 2 times on your Android phone
The sound on the phone speaker is not loud enough making you frustrated? Then you can refer to the tips to increase the volume 2 times for Android smartphones below.
Hidden setting limits speaker volume
Android phones have a lot of built-in safety features to control the overall user experience. They include speaker protection features, allowing the volume to be increased only up to the limit specified by the manufacturer. In most cases, this limit is not necessarily the maximum volume that your phone’s speaker can output. Adjusting Spotify settings to increase the volume is one thing, but if your phone’s speakers aren’t loud enough to begin with, there’s not much you can do.
All speakers have limits. If you push them beyond that limit, the sound will start to sound harsh and crackly. The volume slider on your smartphone limits the volume just below this ceiling, so you can reach maximum volume without overloading your speakers or damaging them. However, if you want, you can unlock the speaker’s entire volume range.
Follow these steps to remove volume limits imposed by Android:
- Open Settings – Settings and enter Sounds and vibrations – Sounds and vibrations.
- Touch Volume – Volume.
- Instead of adjusting the slider, tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.
- Select Media volume limit – Media volume limit.
- Turn on this setting On – On.
After completing the above steps, you will hear a clear difference in the loudness of sound that your phone’s speaker can emit. The end result will vary depending on the device you are using and the manufacturer. Keep in mind that some phones may not have the option to completely disable this limitation. In that case, you should try a third-party app, although finding one that works well can be quite difficult.
Audio played via bluetooth has its own settings
If you’re using a Bluetooth speaker, a similar feature called Bluetooth Absolute Volume limits the maximum volume of the sound. This feature synchronizes your phone’s volume with your Bluetooth device’s volume, which sounds convenient, but in reality it often limits sound.
When enabled, this feature synchronizes the volume level between the phone and the speaker, and lower volume levels become the limiting factor. Initially, it was designed for user convenience, to avoid excessive volume when switching between devices. But for many people, it’s just too safe.
The toggle for this setting is hidden in your phone’s developer options. Follow these steps to turn it off:
- Go to settings on the phone. Tap the item Introduction – About.
- Scroll down to find Build Number – Build Number and tap it seven times to turn it on Developer Options – Developer Options. Your phone may ask for a PIN or password for confirmation.
- Once unlocked, go back to settings. You will find the menu Developer Options in System settings – System.
- Find the toggle button Disable absolute volume – Disable absolute volume and turn it on.
- Reconnect the Bluetooth speaker/headset for the changes to take effect.
Done. Now, when you increase the smartphone volume to the maximum level, you can still increase the volume even higher using the volume buttons on the speaker or headphones.
Note that loud, louder sound is not always better. Default volume settings on the device are intended to ensure users are not exposed to excessively loud sounds and maintain maximum speaker life. Remember that not only people, equipment and audio accessories also have limited uses. Let them work too hard for too long and they will quickly break down.
