Sengodai – The Japanese-style roguelike deckbuilder is about to land

On December 12, 2025, indie studio Tsunoa Games will officially release a new game called Sengodai.

If you’ve ever fallen in love with the stylish swordsman beauty in Tsunoa Games’ Katana Dragon, then prepare to be “fallen in love” again. The new game Sengodai – an extremely attractive roguelike-style tactical deck building game, set in a mysterious Japanese mythology and drawn with breathtakingly beautiful traditional art, will be released soon.

In the game Sengodai, you will no longer fight alone like a samurai, but become the leader of an army of cute but extremely formidable Gokai monsters. Your mission is to collect, evolve, and command your Gokai squad to conquer cursed lands, confront five powerful Elemental Gods head-on, and ultimately overthrow the gods corrupted by the ancient curse.

Each play is a completely new journey. The world in the game is randomly generated, the path changes constantly, you will have to choose the route, visit mysterious merchants, meet the card sculptor, or plunge into unexpected battles. The feeling of “once playing, once different” is what makes me seriously addicted to the roguelike genre and the game Sengodai does that very well.

The biggest highlight is the extremely deep yet accessible card system. You will own more than 20 different Gokai cards, each of which can evolve, change shape and power. Combine them with more than 40 diverse magic cards (can be looted from enemies or purchased from wandering merchants) to create beautiful “elemental explosion” combos. Don’t forget your captain – one of the five Elemental Gods (four need to be unlocked gradually), each god has a completely different playing style: some gods are prone to storm attacks, some gods specialize in impregnable defense, some gods like to “burn the table” with extremely evil fire spread effects.

Campaign mode will take you through five completely different worlds, from magical bamboo forests, red volcanoes to icy palaces or deadly lands. Each world has its own enemies, environments, and challenges, forcing you to constantly adjust your strategy and deck.

Currently, the game Sengodai has opened pre-registration on Google Play (and will be released simultaneously on Steam) with special incentives exclusively for pre-registered users. The iOS version is still “secret” and the date has not been announced, but there will definitely be good news soon!
