Old School RuneScape celebrates 25 years with global events and new content – Game News
Jagexthe developer behind the legendary RuneScape franchise, has just announced plans to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary with a series of events and new content updates for Old School RuneScape in 2026.
Notably, for the first time in history, the official event of this game will be held outside the UK, marking a milestone in globalization of the gaming community. RuneScape.
+ Highlights at Winter Summit 2026
Outstanding content announced during the event Old School RuneScape Winter Summit including:
- Expand Sailing skills: Old School RuneScape’s first new skill will be expanded in 2026, adding a series of new quests and challenges such as Barracuda Trial and activities around Red Reef.
- Blood Moon Rises: The Grandmaster level quest series concludes The Myreque storyline, which was voted by the community as one of the best content routes. Players will confront mystical creatures in a horror-filled atmosphere.
- Raids IV – The Fractured Archive: The brand new raid, announced at RuneFest 2025, will launch this year – marking the first “raid” (party instance) in four years.
- Leagues VI – Demonic Pacts: The temporary but extremely popular game mode will return in April 2026, bringing fast-paced gameplay, bonus XP, strong loot and buffs, and a new relics and quest system inspired by the demon world.
- Beware the Ides of Milk: Exciting products from the latest Game Jam – Brutus, the giant bull boss, will appear in Lumbridge, opening up a new battle between Seth Groats and Cassius that all players (including F2P) can participate in.

+ “Deadman” tournament series
– Deadman: Allstars Season 3
The ultimate PvP event of Old School RuneScape returns with season 3, bringing together many famous streamers and PKers. The final will take place on June 20, 2026 at the Rosemont Theater, Chicago, Illinois, hosted by Solo Mission – marking the first time OSRS has organized the event outside the UK. Tickets are on sale from February 21.
– Deadman: Annihilation
Intense PvP variant – inherited from version Armageddon 2024 – will take place from now until February 21, 2026, where players fight freely around the map, earning points to exchange for exclusive cosmetic rewards.
+ Souvenirs and community cooperation
Jagex also introduced a series of products to celebrate its 25th anniversary:
- Keyboard and keycap themes Old School RuneScape Produced by StarForge.
- Hand-painted 3D TzKal-Zuk keycap.
- Lamps and art murals in collaboration with BucketCultist.
- Besides that, there is the Lumbridge Castle YouTooz model and the vinyl record RuneScape: 25 Years Deluxe released by Laced Records.

RuneFest 2026 event
The culmination of the series of memories will be the largest RuneFest ever, held in Fall 2026 in Birmingham, UK, gathering a global fan community.
