Much smoother, different from Beta 1
One UI 8.5 Beta 2 after 48 hours for a smoother experience, Quick Panel bug fixes and the ultimate Pro Camera toolset to help you master every frame.
I spent 2 full days experiencing the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update that Samsung just released on December 22.
If the Beta 1 at the beginning of the month was mainly “introductory” in nature, then in this Beta 2, with a capacity of more than 1.1GB, I really feel the obvious change.
Not only stopping at bug fixes, Samsung also brings “powerful” camera features that users will definitely love.

New update screen and the return of “national” features
The first thing I noticed as soon as I clicked on the software update is that the Update page interface has been redesigned to look much more modern and airy.
After installing the build ending with code ZYLH, the touch and swipe feeling on the home screen becomes extremely responsive.
Samsung has fixed the lag error when tapping the call menu and optimized the spacing of icons on the Quick Panel bar. The small but annoying errors in One UI 8.5 Beta 1 have now completely disappeared.
In particular, I am extremely excited to see the return of two modes: Dual Recording and Single Take.
In Beta 1, Samsung temporarily removed them, making many people worried, but in fact the company is putting them into a deeper management mode through the Camera Assistant application.
Bringing back these features makes your content creation experience much more enjoyable and convenient.
Camera Assistant: Turn iPhone into a real “mechanical machine”.
The most valuable upgrade I want to show you is the customizations in Camera Assistant.
To fully utilize the “power” of Beta 2, I had to update this application to the latest version (4.5.00.13).
An extremely professional feature that is only available on expensive camcorders has now appeared: Focus Peaking in Pro Video mode.
When I switch to manual focus, the areas that are in focus will appear in color (I chose red for easy visibility), helping me control the frame with absolute precision without fear of being “out of focus”.
Not only that, I can also completely separate the focus point (Autofocus) and the exposure point (Auto Exposure) simply by holding down and dragging them to two different positions on the screen.
This is useful when shooting in complex lighting environments, helping the subject stay sharp and not overexposed.
Samsung is so thoughtful that it puts control bars like White Balance and Exposure Value right into the regular photography interface, helping you make quick adjustments without having to go into complicated Pro mode.
Stability and subtle system tweaks
After 48 hours of continuous use, I found that the system was much more stable.
The error of the volume up button sometimes “freezing” or the error of connecting Bluetooth to the car has been completely fixed.
Samsung has also updated a series of “homegrown” applications such as Samsung Home, Gallery and Always On Display to the latest version.
A small detail that I really like is that on the main screen interface, Samsung has added a “trash can” icon to delete pages and a “house” icon to select the home page right above, making organizing the phone faster and more intuitive.
Although there are still a few small glitches like the White Balance adjustment feature that sometimes causes the camera application to exit suddenly, overall, One UI 8.5 Beta 2 has brought a very positive breath of fresh air.
The machine runs cooler, has better RAM management, and especially the camera toolkit has approached professional levels. If you are a lover of mobile photography, this update will definitely not disappoint you.
