Some points to note when retrieving your VNeID account password
- Use the correct registered phone number: When retrieving the password, users need to enter the correct phone number used to register for a VNeID account. This is important information for the system to send an authentication code (OTP) to verify identity. If you use a different phone number, you will not be able to receive the code and the password recovery process will not be possible.
- Make sure your phone can receive the OTP code: During the password retrieval process, the system will send an OTP code via SMS. Therefore, users need to make sure the phone is working normally, has signal and is not blocking messages from the system. If you do not receive the OTP code, you should check your network connection or request to resend the code.
- Create a new password that is strong and easy to remember: After successful authentication, the user will be asked to set up a new password. You should set a password of appropriate length, combining letters, numbers or special characters to increase security. At the same time, choose a password that is easy to remember but should not be shared with others.
- Do not provide OTP codes to strangers: The OTP code is security information used only for authentication during the account recovery process. Users absolutely do not share the OTP code with anyone, even if someone claims to be a support staff, to avoid the risk of account access being taken over.
- Contact authorities if recovery is not possible: In case the registered phone number is no longer used or there is an error when recovering the password, users should contact the nearest police agency or VNeID support department for instructions on verifying and re-granting account access.
