Some games like Microsoft Solitaire are converted to UWP applications on the Windows Store, you can download them in the Microsoft Store, but Microsoft also requires you to upgrade to the PRO version or watch 30 seconds of advertising.

So it still doesn’t really bring the same feeling of joy as we experienced on Windows 7.

#1. A little introduction

If you don’t know or don’t remember, let me remind you again. On Windows 7, when you go to the START menu, you will see a folder. Games Contains several minigames such as:

Solitaire, Minesweeper, Chess, Mahjong Titans, Hearts, Freecell (now combined into Microsoft Solitaire Collection on Windows 10),…

However, maybe out of nostalgia or for some reason, when upgrading to Windows 10, many people still want to play these games in their free time.

List of default games on Windows 7 that can be installed on Windows 10/11

• Classic Solitare, Spider Solitaire and Hearts set.
• Minesweeper
• FreeCell
• Purple Place
• Mahjong Titans

As of January 18, 2021, these games will still be playable on the following Windows 10 versions:

• Windows 10 Preview Build 21777 or earlier.
• Windows 10 20H2 (Build 19042)
• Windows 10 2004 (Build 19041)
• Windows 10 1909 and 1903

As you can see in the picture, the game launches in just a few seconds and the interface often looks smaller than the previous interface on Windows 7.

With some special games, the window size will be locked and quite small, meaning you cannot zoom in, zoom out or resize that game window.

#2. How to install default Windows 7 games on Windows 10/11

+ Step 1: First, you need to access one of the links below to download the installer of the default games on Windows 7, about 180MB in size.

+ Step 2: After downloading, run the file Win7GamesForWin10-Setup.exe To start the installation process => just click Next until you see this screen.

This is where you can select the games you want to install, scroll down and uncheck the line Internet Games Go because as I said above, these games cannot be played on Windows 10 anymore.

=> Then click Next Let’s go to the next step!

+ Step 3: Next, you need to choose the location to install these games, because they don’t take up much space, so I will install them directly into the drive. C: follow the default path.

If you want to install on another hard drive partition, click Browse to select the desired installation location => then press Install to start the process of installing them.

You need to wait a few minutes for the installation process to complete, it doesn’t take long, and when you get to this screen, click Finish to finish the installation process.

+ Step 4: Okay, now open the START menu and you will see all the familiar games like Hearts, Freecell, Solitaire,… appear in the section. Recently added .

If you turn off the display of newly installed software in Windows 10 in the START menu, you can still find it in the Windows 10 folder. Games when scrolling down the text G in this list.
