Install default Win 7 games on Windows 10/11
If you are a long-time Windows user like me, you are certainly no stranger to the default games on Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 7 operating systems, right?
But when you have installed Windows 10 or Windows 11, it’s different.
These games will be completely eliminated, the games that can be said to have been associated with the childhood of many people will disappear forever.
Some games like Microsoft Solitaire are converted to UWP applications on the Windows Store, you can download them in the Microsoft Store, but Microsoft also requires you to upgrade to the PRO version or watch 30 seconds of advertising.
So it still doesn’t really bring the same feeling of joy as we experienced on Windows 7.
That’s why in this article, I will show you how to bring Windows 7 games to Windows 10 and Windows 11 in the simplest way!
#1. A little introduction
If you don’t know or don’t remember, let me remind you again. On Windows 7, when you go to the START menu, you will see a folder.
Games
Contains several minigames such as:
Solitaire, Minesweeper, Chess, Mahjong Titans, Hearts, Freecell (now combined into Microsoft Solitaire Collection on Windows 10),…
These games are in the section
Tính năng tùy chọn
of Windows 7 and it is pre-installed by default, you can uninstall it by going to the
Turn Windows features on or off
.
However, maybe out of nostalgia or for some reason, when upgrading to Windows 10, many people still want to play these games in their free time.
Luckily, there is a third-party software created by forum members
Digital Life
you will be able to bring Windows 7 games to Windows 10 extremely easily.
List of default games on Windows 7 that can be installed on Windows 10/11
- Classic Solitare, Spider Solitaire and Hearts set.
- Minesweeper
- FreeCell
- Purple Place
- Mahjong Titans
As of January 18, 2021, these games will still be playable on the following Windows 10 versions:
- Windows 10 Preview Build 21777 or earlier.
- Windows 10 20H2 (Build 19042)
- Windows 10 2004 (Build 19041)
- Windows 10 1909 and 1903
As you can see in the picture, the game launches in just a few seconds and the interface often looks smaller than the previous interface on Windows 7.
With some special games, the window size will be locked and quite small, meaning you cannot zoom in, zoom out or resize that game window.
Additionally, while most of the remaining games are fine, Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer games, including Internet Backgammon, Internet Checkers, and Internet Spades.
