In the hands of the "best selling" dehumidifier of Lumias

According to Lumias, this is one of the brand’s best -selling dehumidifier. I have a reference to some retail systems, I know that the 12 -liter dehumidifier is also the most popular dehumidifier in the Vietnamese market today.

If you are a preliminary understanding of the dehumidifier market, you may be surprised to look at the name of this product, why there is NWT here. New Widetech (NWT) is a famous dehumidifier brand in the Xiaomi ecosystem and has been popular with many Vietnamese for many years. Since 2024, NWT dehumidifier has changed brand, sold under a new brand Lumias. That is why many lumias dehumidifiers still appear of the name NWT.

In Vietnam market, Lumias dehumidifier is distributed by Hop Long Company. The Lumias NWT D3 12L model is currently priced at 3.29 million VND, 18 -month warranty and 1 exchange policy for the first 15 days.

About design, Lumias NWT D3 12L has a rectangular shape, elegant white and compact size. The height, width and thickness are 47cm, 30cm and 20cm respectively. The machine weighs about 10kg and has a manual upper hand to move flexibly between indoor spaces.

The LED touch panel is placed above. Users can adjust between 3 humidity levels (40, 50 and 60%) or turn on continuous suction mode. In addition to the control panel, this dehumidifier can also be controlled via the Xiaomi Home or Mijia application. On the app, the device has an additional timer function for 24 hours and displays information about the practical level of the room. That means this dehumidifier has an environmental moisture sensor but only displayed on the app, not displayed on the touch panel like LMD-20L LMD-20L in the higher segment. The device will rely on humidity information from the sensor to stop running when the environmental moisture reaches the setting threshold (40, 50 or 60%) and continue to operate again when the humidity increases.

On the Xiaomi Home app, there is an additional timer and practical information in the room.

Lumias NWT D3 12L has a large desiccant water tank of 2.4 liters. When the water tank is full, the device will stop working on its own, blink the red light on the control panel and warn on the app. Besides, the machine also has water pipes out, can be continuously sucking without worrying about pouring water manually.

I used the device for about 2 weeksright in the period of Hanoi’s uncomfortable humid weather, indoor humidity is always over 80%. Effective dehumidifier, maintain the room is always dry.

To make it easy to imagine, I have effectively measured moisture in the time frames 1, 2 and 3 hours on the desiccant continuously. The room I used with an area of 16 square meters and a ceiling height of nearly 3 meters. The environmental moisture when not on the dehumidifier is 82.5% and the environmental temperature is 21.6 degrees Celsius. After the frames 1, 2 and 3 hours, the desiccant is in continuous suction mode, the humidity in the room decreases to 70%, 65.2% and 63.5%. This is a pleasant moisture level, the floor and objects in the house are dry. After 3 hours of dehumidifying, the “squeezed” machine is 0.8 liters of water from the air.

I tried to compare the desiccant effect of Lumias NWT D3 12L with the turning on the drying mode of the air conditioner, the dehumidifier is much more effective. In the same room area and moisture content of the same similar (81%), the Dry mode of the air conditioner only reduces more than 5% of moisture after 1 hour; 7.5% of moisture after 2 hours and 8% moisture after hours. If compared, Demoscopy dehumidifier reduces moisture double the Dry mode in the same time.

However, the bigger problem I realized is the Dry regime of the The harmony does not reduce the humidity in the room to optimize over 60% as a dehumidifier. After 3 hours, I turned on the Dry mode for a few more hours but the moisture content was still over 70%. Meanwhile, turning on the Dry mode, the room temperature is significantly colder, combined with the wind blowing from the air conditioner, so it feels even more cold when in the room. In contrast, the dehumidifier will make the room temperature warm up a few C in the process of desiccant.

In addition to the bedroom and the living room, I often use a dehumidifier to suck the whole bathroom. In the season and cold weather, the bathroom is the wet place in the house. After bathing with hot water, moisture often stains into drops on the wall and bathroom door. Therefore, using a dehumidifier is the fastest way to make this place dry.

And if you don’t have a dryer, you can use a dehumidifier to dry your clothes on humid days. The speed of drying clothes will be faster if you dry clothes at the top of the dry wind of the dehumidifier.

Summary, This is a compact dehumidifier that has an effective desiccant in reality for compact rooms under 25 square meters. The machine provides all the basic functions of a dehumidifier such as controlled via the app, a large water tank, with drainage, automatically stopping when the moisture content of the setting threshold and automatically runs when the humidity increases. The price of the product is also quite pleasant and the warranty for up to 18 months. However, the product also has a few small limitations such as not showing moisture on the dashboard and the ability to adjust the desiccant speed to reduce the noise when turning in the rooms at night. These are the features that Lumias put into products in the higher price segment such as the Lumias LMD-20L I introduced last week.
