How to use Track Changes in Word

How to open Track Changes in Word
First, click the Review tab on the toolbar, Tracking section, select Track Changes. At this time, all changes in the document will be recorded and displayed clearly, helping you easily manage editing.

Change settings
Step 1: First, click on the small arrow in the section Tracking on the toolbar.
Step 2: The next day the Track Changes Options dialog box appears. Here, you can easily tweak basic settings to suit your needs. If you want to adjust advanced settings, go to Advanced Options.
Step 3: The Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box appears, you can customize the color and method of marking changes, easily optimizing the way the document is tracked. After editing, press OK to save.
Step 4: When the adjustment is complete, return to the dialog box Track Changes Options and press OK again to save the settings.
Change username
Step 1: First, click the small arrow in the Tracking section on the toolbar to access settings options.
Step 2: When the Track Changes Options dialog box appears, click Change User Name to start editing personal information.
Step 3: Dialog box Word Options will appear, click on the tab Generalfind the item Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office and change the name in the cell User Name, then press OK.
Step 4: After completing the editing and settings in the advanced options window, return to the dialog box Track Changes Options, press OK again.
Select the presentation style and Markup types displayed
Step 1: If you want to see the final version of your document without previous changes being affected, then adjust the settings in the Tracking. Here, select All Markup to display the complete version, including all edits and comments that have been processed. With Word 2010, this option will be displayed as Final.
If you want to see the original again, select Original so that the document appears as before.
Step 2: To customize the types of Markup displayed in the document, select Show Markup. Enable or disable the following options depending on your needs:
- Comments: Displays editor’s notes.
- Insertions and Deletions: Displays the text added or removed.
- Formatting: Allows all changes related to text formatting in the document to be displayed.
- Balloons: Changes will be displayed in the frame to the right of the document.
- Specific People: Allows you to choose whether to show edits from specific people.
See changes in another window
To view changes in the document in detail and clearly in a separate window, click Reviewing Panechoose the viewing mode that suits your needs:
- Reviewing Pane Vertical (view vertically)
- Reviewing Pane Horizontal (view horizontally).
With this view, you can manage and check edits without interrupting your work.
How to remove Track Changes in Word
Save all changes: If you agree with any changes that have been made, just select Accept press Accept All Changes and Stop Tracking.
Discard any changes: If you don’t want to keep any changes, select Reject, then click Reject All Changes and Stop Tracking.
