Step 1: Open the VNeID application on your new phone, then log in to your personal identification account.
Step 2: On the app’s home page, tap the tab Individual in the bottom right corner.
Step 3: Continue selecting Device management. After clicking, a list of devices logged into the identification account on VNeID appears. Everyone needs to click Unlink next to the old device name that was previously logged in.
After unlinking the VNeID account on the old device, everyone will need to log in again on the new phone’s application. The person needs to open VNeID on the new device, enter the CCCD number and password to log in to the personal identification account on the new device.
This method also works effectively in case you detect a suspicious device logging into your personal identification account. When you see a strange device appear in the device list, click Unlink immediately to protect your account.
How to log in to VNeID when you no longer have your old device
After unlinking the VNeID account, if the old device is no longer available or there is an error of not receiving OTP, people can use the NFC feature on their smartphone and scan their chip-embedded citizen identification card to log in with the following steps:
Step 1: Open the VNeID application on the new device and log in with CCCD number and password. At this time, the application will notify the user to log in with a new device and ask to click Confirm to continue.
Step 2: Select NFC authentication with chip-embedded CCCD card.
Step 3: Read the NFC authentication instructions for steps, then press the button Continue and bring the phone close to the CCCD with the chip so the device can read the NFC.
Step 4: After the phone successfully reads the NFC on the chip-embedded CCCD, the application will display the account activation interface on the new device and the system will send OTP code about the new phone.
In case the phone does not have the NFC reading function or has an error that cannot scan the chip on the CCCD, people can borrow another phone with this feature, operate as above to get the OTP, then open it on their device and proceed to log in.
Finally, don’t forget to log out of your VNeID account from the phone you just used by going to the tab Individual > select Device management > press Unlink.
