Hyper Light Breaker, the highly anticipated sequel to Hyper Light Drifter, just came out and has changed a lot of the original game’s formula. The game features 3D graphics instead of 2D Pixel, Roguelite gameplay that incorporates exploration instead of linear role-playing – and importantly, allows multiple players to play together. Instructions for playing Hyper Light Breaker with friends

To play Co-op Multiplayer mode on Hyper Light Breaker with friends, gamers will have to set up a separate multiplayer room. After appearing in Cursed Outpost, the Hyper Light Breaker hub area, go to the counter to the left of your commander, Pherus Bit, who is standing directly across from the entrance leading into the Outpost.

Press the button Interact (usually R1 or RB) while standing at this counter to open Multiplayer menu. Here you can create your own Breaker Team, join the team and view entries Invitations.

To play with friends, Hyper Light Breaker players must select “Create Breaker Team“. In the pop-up menu, go to “Password Required” wall “On” and enter the password in the second box.

Once you’ve created your own Breaker Team, invite up to two friends across platforms like PSN, Xbox, and Steam. Hyper Light Breaker can handle groups of up to three players.

If you want to play Multiplayer mode but don’t have friends who own Hyper Light Breaker, the game’s multiplayer system allows creating public groups, allowing anyone to join.

Gamers can create their own public groups in the same way as above – just without adding a password – or join randomly through Hyper Light Breaker’s matchmaking system.

In the multiplayer menu in Cursed Outpost, open “Join Breaker Team” – second option from the bottom, then scroll to the bottom of the screen and select “Join Random Public Breaker Team“.

The game will automatically search for public, non-password protected Breaker Teams and assign you to one if there is one. After a few minutes and a short loading screen, your character will be loaded into Breaker Team creator’s world.

To disconnect, go to the counter in Cursed Outpost and open it Multiplayer menu. If you’re in a multiplayer session, select the fourth option at the bottom of the list to disconnect from the current session and return to your world. Of course, you can also exit the game to end the session.
