How to not die instantly when playing Species: Unknown

Species: Unknown is a very good horror game and players can try it out before deciding to play. And this is the secret to not dying as soon as you enter game Species: Unknown.

You start playing Species: Unknown with a single life. To have a chance to revive, you need to find an espawn Capsule and use it after the ship’s power is turned on. This activates the team’s life system – usually 9 lives are divided equally between the team, but it varies depending on difficulty.

Prepare your own supplies if possible

Scattered around the HSS Hawking are a few important stations to pay attention to:

• Ammunition crates in the armory. Infinite ammo, fully replenishes all available weapons. Use them regularly. Some mission elements make using them cost 100 credits, but ammo is still ammo.
• Heal station: Green box. Limited use (about 5 times), helps you recover completely. Like ammo crates, they sometimes cost 100 credits per use depending on mission factors.
• Emergency box: Can only be used during self-destruction. Gives you a shot of adrenaline for unlimited stamina for about 15 seconds. You will need 2-3 doses to sprint from the engine room to the shuttle bay.

Credit and drive: Your income

In addition to the main quest rewards, you can find odd credits (5-15 each) scattered around. This amount will be transferred directly to your wallet. You can also find “unknown drives”, each worth 100 credits if successfully extracted. Every little bit is important.

The task needs plowing

Main tasks include:

• Black box rescue: Find the box in one of the two server rooms (Captain’s Deck or near the Engine Compartment, marked purple on the map). Take it, then bring it back to the shuttle and place it. You cannot use items while carrying it (except for the flashlight), but you can throw the box down the stairs without breaking it. Picking up the box will make the monster very angry until you leave. Need to do the above 4 times for each monster to collect data.
• Ship destruction: Transform into Isaac Clarke. Go to the Engine Bay, start the “engine test”, then run upstairs to the Engine A and B control room and increase the speed to 1000%. When the second engine overloads, a self-destruct timer will start (time varies depending on difficulty). Grab the adrenaline shots from the Emergency Box and RUN to the shuttle. The monster will become extremely ferocious during this time. All other targets will be canceled once this begins.
• Destruction/Capture of specimens: These two tasks are similar. You need to find specific elemental weapons (marked on the map) that match the monster’s weaknesses. Then, either fight it in an open area (the engine room is a good choice, there are ammo/health nearby) or lure it back to the shuttle’s cell. Monsters are very “buffalo”; Use elemental weapons to weaken/reveal weaknesses while teammates use regular guns. Capture simply stuns it inside the cell. It takes 1 capture and 4 kills of each monster to complete the mission.

Understand the enemy you are about to face

There are currently five monsters trying to kill you (IDs based on in-game terminals):

• ID-006 (Squid): Run towards you and try to jump on top to knock you down instantly. This monster is weak to fire. Shoot this monster until it runs away. Note that squid have the ability to pretend to be dead. So wait a few seconds or shoot it again to be sure. ID-006’s weakness is fire, so you should use fire to burn or aim to shoot each part of their body.
• ID-007 (Invisible Ghost): A strange ghost. Don’t look at it because you will get hurt. If you don’t look, it’s harmless. You will hear a roar or rustle of leaves when it appears/moves. Guns have no effect. Its weakness is ice (Freeze Gun). Freezing it will transform it into its physical form in seconds.
• ID-008 (Clamp Robot): The drone flies quite slowly with a blue light but has a short dive that causes instant death. If it finds you in the ventilation duct, you will die. The gun has no effect unless it is hit by a laser first. Weakness: Laser (Laser Gun). If hit by a laser, it will be stunned, grow legs, lose its shield, and transform into an agile spider-like creature with slashing attacks instead of causing instant death. Continue damaging ID-008 (laser or gun both work) until it explodes.
• ID-009 (Necromorph dog-like creature): Run fast, slash you. Has low stamina, so you can sometimes run away from it. Make loud stomping and roaring sounds, use ventilation ducts. Don’t crouch close to it, or you’ll be killed instantly. The stun gun slows it down. Therefore, shocking it for a short time will open the weak spot on this monster’s face. Shoot at it! Its faceplate will break apart when hit by a damaging attack.
• ID-010 (Zombie Scorpion): Sneaky creature, creating zombies from corpses. Hide in the ventilation duct (bleeds purple if inside). Will grab and poison you from inside the ventilation duct. Usually avoid direct combat unless cornered, there are no dead bodies around, or self-destruct mode is active. Weakness: Fear of fire (Flamethrower). Burn the corpse to lure it out, then shoot/burn it to death. This flamethrower stuns scorpions very effectively.
