How to integrate and use Claude in Google Workspace
Gemini and Google Workspace Not necessarily a “perfect couple” if you know how to use Claude. Actually, Claude for Google Workspace is far superior to the built-in option from Google itself.
How to set up Claude for Workspace
If you’re on a Claude paid plan, you’re probably familiar with Claude add-ons for Microsoft – which gives access to AI features right in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. On October 6, Claude expanded this range by launching “Claude for Workspace“, bringing AI assistants to Google Docs, Slides and Sheets.
Currently, this tool is in testing (beta) and is available to users with a paid subscription to Claude. You can install it through Claude’s official listing on Google Marketplace. The setup process was extremely quick. When you open Google Docs, you just need to select Extensions > Claude > Open Claude to launch the AI sidebar interface.
Run Claude Skill in Google Docs
The “skill” Claude’s (Skills) help optimize workflow, allowing users to reuse them while creating or editing documents. This feature is extremely useful when you need to rewrite content right in the document with a specific style. For example, you can use the skill `/academic-voice-writer` to convert a description to an academic style.
Another plus is that users can choose the most suitable model for each task. For example, for detailed presentations, use Sonnet or Opus, while Haiku is an effective choice for most other tasks. In particular, the latest version of Haiku works very well for line-by-line editing of text as well as other proofreading needs.
Complete the presentation structure and calculations in the table
Claude for Workspace does a great job of organizing and refining presentations and spreadsheets, instead of creating completely new ones. This is the aspect where Claude best demonstrates his ability to manage documents and think logically.
Claude is also extremely responsive in building detailed presentations from the ground up. Just make a basic request, attach the necessary references and turn on the Web Search feature, and within a minute or two, Claude will create a presentation complete with editable elements.
This utility also helps you quickly process data in Google Sheets. It is especially useful when you need to deal with spreadsheets containing messy data. Now, I you don’t need to bother memorizing complicated formulas anymore; Instead, just ask Claude for a recipe that suits your needs. The results are always very precise and smooth — often better than what Gemini does.

All of these features work well even with very long documents. Meanwhile, Gemini often has difficulty handling large documents.
Above are the usage and great benefits when using Claude in Google Workspace. If you are qualified to install this extension, don’t hesitate to try it!
