When registering for a VNeID account, some people will see a message that their personal information does not match current data in the National Population Database. If the application reports this error, people will not be able to continue registering an account, instead, please proceed to fix it in the following 2 ways:
Method 1: Correct potentially erroneous information such as CCCD number or phone number, corresponding to the displayed message.
Method 2: If you have entered correctly but the error message still shows incorrect information, contact the police in your area of residence and request to check and correct the information in the database if any errors occur.
Error of not receiving OTP code
To increase security when using VNeID, the application will send OTP to the registered phone number. However, if you do not receive an OTP, try the following:
- Check to see if you have entered the phone number correctly.
- If you entered the correct phone number, press Resend code to ask the application to send a new OTP code again.
- In addition, check your phone’s signal signal, turn off airplane mode and do not disturb, to avoid the situation where a message containing an OTP has been sent but you don’t know it.
Error unable to scan NFC
Scanning the chip on the CCCD card using near field communication (NFC) technology is a necessary step to authenticate information. If this process fails, it may be due to incorrect operations or a problem with your device. At that time, you need to apply the following methods to handle VNeID registration errors:
- Make sure your device supports NFC: First of all, make sure your smartphone is equipped with the NFC feature and has been enabled in Settings.
- Do the right thing: Remove the phone case to avoid obstructions. Then, place the back of the phone and gently contact the location with the chip on the CCCD card. Hold still for a few seconds and move slowly so the device has time to recognize and scan information.
- Try on another device: If you have tried the above steps but still fail, you can use another device that supports NFC to complete this step.
Account cannot activate level 2
Electronic identity accounts are divided into 2 levels, in which level 1 will have some functions limited and level 2 can use all. If the account displays a message that Your account has been identified at level 1, people need to bring a chip-mounted CCCD and go to the police to get support to level 2 identification.
