The UltimateCare 900 model I experienced has the code name EDH902R9SC, has a drying capacity of 9kg and is the most advanced heat pump dryer in Electrolux’s current dryer product range. The product is priced at 26.9 million VND, 4 million lower than the opening price of the previous generation UltimateCare 900.

In addition to the above two changes, this year’s UltimateCare 900 dryer still inherits the overall design of the previous generation. The product has good finishing, a sturdy body, a two-layer glass door with an edge-to-edge design, a stainless steel drying drum and a light in the drying drum to conveniently observe the clothes inside as well as when picking up items.

The machine has a large fabric dust tray and a large condensate water tank. Users can refill the condensate tank themselves or install the supplied drain hose so they don’t have to worry about pouring drying water anymore.

According to Electrolux, the 3Dsense sensor can detect areas of moisture inside thick items such as life jackets and down jackets to adjust the appropriate drying time and temperature without harming the clothes.

When introducing 3Dsense radar drying technology at the launch event in Hanoi in October 2024, I saw that Electrolux described the difference in drying efficiency for sweaters and down jackets. With a down jacket, the down inside the dryer’s jacket with 3Dsense is loose, smooth and not clumped like a jacket dried in a regular dryer. As for sweaters, the shirt dried with 3Dsense is also softer.

To experience 3Dsense radar drying technology, I washed two old cotton pillowcases that had been used for many years and dried them with the new UltimateCare 900 dryer. After drying for more than 2 hours, I saw two cotton pillows dry and puffy. Before that, I had washed and dried these two pillows many times with a vented dryer and found that the two pillows were dry but a little more flattened, not as puffy as drying with this new dryer from Electrolux.

Previously, 3Dsense was a technology only introduced by Electrolux into the highest-end UltimateCare 900 dryer line. This year, this technology has been extended to the UltimateCare 700 series.

Besides 3Dsense, this year’s UltimateCare 900 also has another exclusive technology SteamCare. This technology is currently only used on the new generation UltimateCare 900 line of 2024, not on any other products. Accordingly, the dryer will add steam at the end of the cycle and rotate the drum to help make clothes smoother.

In practical experience, I found that the UltimateCare 900 dryer will run a 30-minute “anti-wrinkle” cycle at the end of the drying cycle. I don’t have any other heat pump dryers that don’t have SteamCare to compare the effectiveness, but I find the shirts are relatively flat and wrinkle-free. The “anti-wrinkle” cycle is optional, users can stop the program and take out items during this period if there is no time to wait.

Another new feature of the UltimateCare 900 dryer is SyncDry, creating a link between Electrolux washing machines and dryers through the cloud platform. After connecting SyncDry between the washer and dryer, you just need to select the washing cycle and SyncDry will automatically recommend the appropriate drying program. For daily use, simply transfer the laundry to the dryer and start SyncDry. The dryer does not need to be turned on during the washing process, the cloud platform will automatically synchronize data after the user selects SyncDry.
