Tips for playing Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains
Choose the appropriate unit
Ken Kaneki (Awaken)
As the main character in the manga, this is definitely a Tokyo Ghoul Break The Chains character that players should keep an eye on, especially the Awaken version. In addition to being a solid character overall, Kaneki also has access to some powerful passive skills. Vampirism Boost allows Kaneki to maintain Blood Rage status when his HP is above 70%.
Blood Rage increases the damage Kaneki deals by 0.5% for every 1% of remaining HP he has, combining well with his already high HP stat. Not only that, Vampirism Boost also triples Vampirism when dealing damage, making Kaneki a threat on the battlefield.
Kisho Arima (Lightning God)
Another character to focus on is Kisho Arima. Arima’s normal attacks have an amplification effect that increases Arima’s attack power by 15% for each spell he has, which is an easy condition to trigger even without the help of an ally, as Arima already has a way to gain spells through his passive in the form of Attack Boost.
Attack Boost activates every time Arima uses an active skill or every 2 times he activates an additional attack, allowing Arima to gain one point of Attack Boost. Arima is considered a character with strong attacks thanks to his Unblockable passive, which helps ignore 30% of the enemy’s blocking chance when dealing damage.
Toka Kirishima (Rabbit)
Toka Kirishima is a solid combination of damage and debuft abilities. In addition to having high DPS, she can also apply a Vulnerable effect on enemies, which will increase damage by 10%, allowing Kirishima and her allies to deal more damage.
This combines well with Kirishima’s DMG amplification passive, in battle it increases the damage 2 random enemies take by 10% for 2 turns, this pretty much applies the Vulnerable effect in Boss battles, just by entering the battle.
Hinami Fueguchi
Hinami is the best support and healing character in the game because she has both the ability to heal and dispel negative effects. Hinami’s Crowd Heal passive skill is a powerful form of AoE healing that heals all allies, restores HP equal to 100% of Hinami’s Attack stat, and increases their maximum HP by 5%. Another form of healing that Hinami has is through Burst Strength Boost, gaining Burst Strength will heal all allies for 5% of lost HP, this can save the day if your allies are low on HP.
The passive skill Dispel Disadvantage is also a useful tool as it removes a random ally’s debuff at the start of Hinami’s turn. However, it depends a bit on randomness, so it’s not very reliable when dealing with enemies that can continuously apply multiple detrimental effects.
