Plants in Plants vs. Zombies are living organisms belonging to the plant kingdom, deriving most of their energy from sunlight through photosynthesis. However, not all plants absorb energy through photosynthesis. In Plants vs. Zombies, plants are the main characters and the player’s main line of defense against the attacking undead.
In the original version Plants vs. Zombies, Suburban Almanac lists a total of 49 usable plants, including Imitater. Each plant is unique and useful in at least one stage of the game, with special properties to combat specific zombie types or playground mechanics. Plants also appear in the Zen Garden, with exclusive species found only here.
All growable plants come from seed packs, which are the way to select and plant plants in the game.
